The hotel's location is incredibly convenient; you can walk to all areas of the city. Circular Quay is just a 5-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Plus, you can even see the bridge from your hotel room, which is fantastic!

Very friendly staff with speedy services to provide

Generous and thoughtfulness for customers especially with check in process, appreciated

Extremely satisfied, their professionalism truly deserves praise. I booked rooms overlooking both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. From the rooms we were assigned, the Opera House view had a better layout and angle. My photography skills aren't great, so the view was even more impressive in person. The service was very warm; they knew it was Chinese New Year and even gave us some candies.

The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay and the pedestrian street. However, the room facilities, especially the bathroom, are a bit outdated, and the breakfast selection is limited.

The breakfast was decent, pretty standard. The room wasn't very big, just okay, but it was quite clean. The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. Its good location is definitely a plus.

This hotel only deserves a 1-star rating, and that's solely for its location! It's a 5-minute walk from the Sydney Opera House, but the hygiene is absolutely terrible. On our first night, my husband got bitten. We reported it to the front desk, and without any explanation, they just moved us to another room! The new room, however, still had biting insects, and I got bitten too. I didn't even bother asking for another room because it's highly likely that every room in this hotel has bugs! As a Marriott member, I am truly disappointed!

Let's start with the positives:
- Location is perfect, 5min away from Circular Quay, 10min walk from the shopping area of Pitt street. Right in the city center.
- Staff is nice, giving small gift to our kid. Breakfast is also quite good.
- We were able to do an early check-in at 10am without surcharge, which was very nice after an overnight flight.
Now for the negatives:
- Room is small and basic for a 5 star hotel, shower room is very simple, you'd expect more for a premium brand like Mariott at a price of 500 AUD for a night.
- The harbor bridge view room is absolutely not worth it: you need to be at your window and looking on the right to see it. Completely useless. The real view is currently a construction site. Very disappointing.
- Cleaning is not done properly: there were still some crumbs on the floor after the room was cleaned, and worth, there were 3 pairs for previous guests slippers under the bed!
To conclude, it's not worth it. Next time I'll probably stay again at the Shangri-La for a similar pricing.

FAKE FIVE STARS!

This hotel deserves recognition—not for excellence, but for commitment to the idea of luxury while carefully avoiding its execution.

I booked a room for my family of four after being persuaded by the hotel’s photographs, which depict what I can only assume is an aspirational rendering of Sydney Harbour. The harbour-view room we believed we had booked turned out to be a philosophical concept rather than a physical space—interesting in theory, unavailable in practice.

Housekeeping deserves special mention. Out of seven nights, our room was cleaned three times. The remaining four days offered an immersive experience in minimalist living, where towels and toilet paper are acquired through personal negotiation with the reception desk. This interactive model of hospitality certainly keeps guests engaged.

The carpet in the room was visibly unclean, which prepared us nicely for the bathroom—an area clearly designed to challenge conventional ideas about dryness. There is no shower curtain, ensuring that every shower transforms the entire bathroom into a unified aquatic ecosystem. A bold architectural statement, particularly when cleaning is optional.

The building itself is old, which might have been charming had it not been paired with operational efficiency best described as “selective.” Of the five elevators, only two were routinely operational, resulting in waits of up to 10 minutes, sometimes followed by elevators arriving already full and departing without us. This encouraged reflection, patience, and lower expectations.

To be clear, nothing here was dramatic. Nothing exploded. Nothing caught fire. It was simply a steady, disciplined underdelivery across every basic expectation one might reasonably associate with a five-star hotel charging five-star prices.

Sydney Harbour Marriott does not offer luxury so much as it gestures toward it. The branding promises refinement; the experience suggests austerity with a view—occasionally.

Five stars were advertised. What was delivered was a valuable reminder that stars, like photos, are not guarantees.

Great location but basic facilities. Convenient yet no bath tub

We stayed at the bridge view room, which we could admire the view and the new year fireworks show, it was amazing! The location of the hotel is very convenient where is within walking distance to the bridge and the Opera House. There are quite some good restaurants around the area, the atmosphere was relaxed cum energetic.
The hotel was bright and clean, the staffs were friendly and attentive, what a pleasant stay!

This restaurant is right on circular quay and in the middle of the tourist footfall. As expected, the food is very average and essentially you're paying for the view of the harbour, which looks pretty amazing at night. We ordered two pizzas and some garlic bread, they resembled oven-heated frozen supermarket pizzas, as did the garlic bread. Wood-fired oven labours of love these ain't. Having said that, they tasted ok (as do supermarket pizzas!) Other customers' plates didn't inspire much food envy, this restaurant is listed in Rough Guides but I'm not sure it deserves a mention to be honest. As a tourist, consider going here as a one-time visit for the circular quay atmosphere and the great view, and accept that the food is not going to be your best meal in Sydney. I've no idea why anyone would go back for repeat meals though!

Love this restaurant. I have had dinner here with various people throughout the years and it is always a great place to eat. A very convenient location as well.

Had dinner last night. Rissoto was delicious. Best bourbon and Coke I have tasted at a restaurant and the staff were friendly, efficient and wonderful to deal with. Will definitely be back.

Nice ambience, large and fresh seafood variety. Smaller buffet than the Star but overall better atmosphere.

Used to be one of the best in Sydney but not anymore! Overpriced and very low quality food and services!

Had lunch here today absolutely fantastic! Normally go to Sheraton on the Park. On a smaller scale but just as good. Staff were fantastic, will be back.

Was a long time customer but no longer cos the chef can no longer keep track of orders.. end up wasting time n money at this joint... not recommended... stay away

Went there on 30/9/17, the food was very low grade an and not much choice.
Especially the seafoods is very low grade and smell very bad . Not fresh at all .
THe services is excellent .
It's not a five star buffet at all, maximum is 2 star.
The restaurant need to improves and provide high grade quality of seafood .
