Khazar Golden Beach in Baku

I recently visited the Golden Beach Hotel, which promotes itself as a four-star hotel, primarily to enjoy their outdoor pool facilities. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet these expectations.

The overall condition of the hotel could use significant improvement. The pool area appears quite aged, with many elements in need of repair. The loungers are uncomfortable and worn, and the umbrellas struggle to withstand the wind. Additionally, the restrooms are in poor condition, and there are no changing facilities, so it's advisable to bring a towel for changing.

Another concern is the hotel's environment regarding families. It seems more suited for teenagers, who may not always demonstrate the best behavior in a public space. There were instances of noisy and disruptive activity in the pool, despite signs and attempts at security intervention. The music was also quite loud, which detracted from a relaxing atmosphere.

On the payment side, while card payments are accepted, it can be a hassle if cash or card-to-card transfers are not handled upfront.

In summary, while the entrance fee is relatively low, it reflects the overall quality of the facilities and service. I believe the Golden Beach Hotel has potential but would greatly benefit from renovations and a focus on creating a more family-friendly environment.

I was there August 2025 and the place is old and needs many renovations. In our room the drawer of the table was broken, wallpaper coming off, toilet seat shaking, taps not good, there was one light in the bathroom and it was so dark. The door of the fridge is not possible to open. The wifi goes on and off. There was no cleaning service in the morning, unless you ask for workers to come and clean smth specific.
All the rooms are around the swimming pool and the music is blasting out from around 11am until midnight, so you can't have any peace.
The hotel has its own beach with lounge chairs and also tables with chairs, which is nice but the beach is a bit dirty.
The personnel is very friendly but super slow, we waited for almost an hour for our tea.

Our stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing from the very beginning. Breakfast wasn’t served until 11 AM — only after we reminded the staff twice. Dining at the restaurant was impossible, as it was cluttered with construction materials.

The entire property is under active renovation, with loud construction noise starting early each morning and continuing throughout the day, making relaxation impossible. The beach was clearly not ready for the season: there were no sunbeds, the umbrellas were rusted, and the sand was dirty.

We experienced a complete internet outage for an entire day, and when service was finally restored, the connection was extremely poor. The tap water in our room had a strong salty taste, making it unusable even after boiling.

The swimming pool was closed for renovations and, according to staff, would remain so until June 10 — with no compensation or alternative offered.

Most concerning of all, at 12:30 AM, a hotel employee attempted to enter our room uninvited to sell us a SIM card as a substitute for the broken Wi-Fi — a completely inappropriate and unprofessional act.

And they cancelled the booking reservation to not have a possibility to leave the feedback and opinion.
