Rivendell Apartments Sequoia Hotel in Borovets

Where do I start....
Really mixed views on this place. Firstly let's start by saying you really do get what you pay for. It's clean and tidy but really run down and needs a lick of paint at the very least.
The hotel is very quaint and was ideally positioned literally beside the 4 man chair lift. Its close enough to the 6 man and the busier areas for bars and restaurants but not so close that you can't get a good night's sleep (ie like slope facing rooms at the Rila, good luck sleeping there).
Breakfast is varied but be prepared for cold cooked food (warmers didn't keep it warm) and to eat a more continental style of breakfast, cheese, meats etc
The actual dining area could get busy at times as there were not enough chairs and tables to meet the demand if every room was occupied. This was at times was a pain as we are a family of 6 but smaller family's or couples should be fine.
Staff were generally fairly friendly. Cleaners would come and if they couldn't do your room there and then it wouldn't get done full stop contrary to the hotels own rules.
One thing to be very aware of for the hotel and 90% of the bars and restaurants...cash is king. Most don't or would rather not let you pay by card. Its a pain if you go out there with cards only so be warned.
Would I stay at the forest star again, yes I would if nothing else for the convenience of where it is situated.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, good tuck shop and cheap beer, room is very basic but quaint problem is that's it's noisy. Can hear the neighbours and also when the slopes are being groomed. All in all though a pleasant experience. Cash only on payment though but I did enjoy my stay.
