Spa Hotel Olymp in Velingrad

It is with the utmost disappointment that I share with you a case study that left me extremely dissatisfied and highly annoyed. After I received confirmation of my booking , I wrote a message to the hotel on the Booking platform that I wanted the booked room to be at the back of the hotel , with the possibility of the upper floors , as quiet is of utmost importance to me. I have a problem sleeping and find it extremely difficult to fall asleep both at night , and during the day. I was told that they would accommodate my floor and view requirement. We checked in at 13:00 on 24/05/2025 as our room was cleaned and ready for check in. The room was no 301 on the third floor. The hours after 13:00 passed silently . The night was also quiet. In the morning of 25.05.2025 the essential part started. After breakfast , my mate and I decided to sleep some more , but that was no longer possible in any way . From 10:00 the noise of hammers started above our room . Besides the noise of hammers , the noise of moving some materials was added . Alongside this , a little later the noises of angle grinder and hammering started . At the first moment , when they started with the hammers I thought that it was momentary and that they would stop this process . The process was as follows : 15 minutes hammering , 10 minutes silence / 10 minutes hammering , 5 minutes silence and so on for an hour . The action continues in the same way with the moving of materials , angle grinder and chiseling . For a total of 4 hours we were subjected to this harassment : from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Harassment given that we were guests of the hotel , harassment given that I had asked for the quietest room , harassment given that I had paid to rest. After there was absolutely no reaction from the manager or any other person , to stop this renovation , I went down to reception to let them know. There were 3 ladies at reception , one of them was the manager . I mentioned to them about the incessant four hour repair noise , and they conveyed to me that basically there was a repair on the top floor ( 4th ) , but there was not supposed to be one on Saturday and Sunday. I therefore invited them to my floor and my room so they could hear and see for themselves that the renovation was in full swing and nobody cared that it was a hotel and there were guests staying who wanted to rest , but that was not possible in the last four hours ?! How is it possible to make renovations when there are guests in the hotel ?! The hotel wants to profit from customers and at the same time make renovations. This is complete insanity. I asked them to change my room immediately and they told me that they will compliment us and that they will move us to a bigger room . In this case it was not a compliment but their obligation. A compliment is when you get, for example, dinner on the hotel's dime or free night(s) , and my partner and I got four hours of harassment in the form of repair noise . If I had not go

On the surface it looks good, but a closer look shows poor maintenance and cleaning.

The food was good but the coffee with the breakfast is undrinkable. Vending machine poor quality.

Room size are layout are ok, but for the price a bottle of water and complimentary coffee should be in each room. Not over 3lv for capsule coffee.

There is no internal lock for the room door, so you are relying on the electronic lock only.
(No lock on the bathroom door also)

There is a gym, but again it is very poorly maintained and look like it is 30 years old, with out of order equipment.

The pool is a good size, but the outdoor pool was closed during our stay, no prior notice given when booking.

Relative to the many other hotels in the town, I would place this at the lower end.

The WiFi was slow and had to connect to.

For 330lv per night, there are better options in better locations in the town.
