Kalithea Family Hotel in Sozopol

A total disappointment - we would not return Our stay was completely disappointing. We were assured over the phone that there were a few free parking spaces, but upon our arrival in the morning they told us that they never had any and charged us an additional 10 BGN per night for the parking lot 100 meters from the hotel. Guests are required to leave the key with the power supply card at reception, supposedly for room cleaning purposes. However, if another card is used to keep the air conditioner running, it is deliberately turned off by the cleaning staff. When we asked why, we were told that “everything has its limits and they can't afford such expenses.” Hygiene is at a very low level – the room had cobwebs in the corners and on the furniture, the sheets were only changed on the fifth day, and the air conditioner was moldy inside and missing a filter. The fridge was noisy and overheated constantly. The bathroom had an outdated shower curtain and no drain outside the shower area, which caused flooding after every use. Breakfast was the same every day, made with the cheapest possible products – dry and stale. The hotel is located at the top of a hill, accessible only by climbing over 120 steep steps or via a sharp incline – completely unsuitable for families with small children or elderly people.
