Melia Sunny Beach All Inclusive in Sunny Beach

Great location, right next to the beach and most importantly excellent service. The animations team really made it a fun stay, even during the days with a bit worse weather. All of us from my group will remember Pavlin (Papi ＜3), Emo and Stan. The activities and games were super fun and it was fun talking to people. The pool bartender, Krystian and Ertan made excellent drinks (and told quite a few jokes as well :D ) Overall a stay to be remembered warmly!

Situated 4 minutes walk from Sunny Beach, Melia accessed via a wooden walkway to a promenade just waking up for a new season , the beach looks beautiful. I am a wheelchair user but can walk with sticks and have an 18kg wheelchair, the only problem I had was getting up and down the kerb as the crossing point is far too steep. There’s a zebra crossing here for safety as you have to cross the road. Having got there, the ‘promenade is a little disappointing as there are not sea views and of course my wheelchair can’t run on the beach. However turn left from the boardwalk and you’re heading straight to the centre with the usual clothes, handbags and souvenirs, but then turning left into another little alleyway there is a pub selling food and drinks with outdoor seating which is what my friend and I were looking for. It may be that some of the closed places serve coffee and have seating but not this early in the season. We are staying at the Melia sunny beach hotel and this review is being written while we are staying there. I just had to write a review I am so impressed. My 83 year old friend and I arrived to a very warm welcome and we’ve been cared for like royalty, the staff could not be better. Helpful, kind and attentive, they have answered a myriad of questions and are going to hire mobility scooters for us for the 2 days we want to explore the promenade, the pub I mentioned being too far for my friend to walk and my wheelchair doesn’t lock so I can’t let it out of my sight, and the slopes are more than the 6 degrees my wheelchair is meant to cope with. The scooters lock so I can happily leave them to wander the short distance I can walk using sticks to go into shops and the pub. I asked if there was somewhere safe for us to leave them overnight as I prefer my wheelchair within the hotel. Not a problem! The indoor pool is supposed to be 25C but currently cold as they’ve had a problem with the heating system and obviously it takes time to heat a large volume of water. Unfortunately the changing rooms are apparently upstairs so I had to stay in my wheelchair wet to get back to my room to shower (water quite heavily chlorinated). I’m deaf and once I take my hearing aids out I hear virtually nothing, so I have to make the lifeguard aware he would need to use hand signals if he needed to speak to me eg to tell me it was time to get out. It’s open 9am to 6pm. My only criticism here is that they do not have a hoist. The lifeguard couldn’t understand English well enough to know what I was saying so he sensibly called for someone to come and translate. Michaela from guest services came as well as a man I don’t know. They both stayed to make sure I was safe and could get out using the steps which is difficult for me. (They were also concerned as to my swimming ability which is fine). Michaela went and got me a second towel to sit on so my wheelchair didn’t get wet going back to my room. The slope to the pool is again too steep for my wheelchair

We have been in this hotel 10-12 times. Nice hotel, clean, good food, nice and polite staff, lot of sun beds, near shopping, beach and all you need. We'll go there again May 30. 2026, and we look forward to it, as usual.

I have just returned from a very enjoyable three day trip to Hereford staying at the Brandon Lodge Hotel. From booking in to leaving, it was a pleasure able experience. Very friendly staff, a high standard room which was a good size and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice and the full English cooked to order. It’s just on the outskirts of town, with a bus stop a short distance away, we managed to walk in and out a couple of times, less than two miles. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel when visiting the area and overall excellent value for money

The hotel is very well situated in Sunny Beach. It has 3 large pools and 3 kiddie pools, plus water slides. We visited mid September so the extra restaurants were closed. This meant the main buffet was the only option for breakfast and dinner. The food was good, but I agree the offering lacked significant variation and by the end of the week we were pretty tired of it. Some of the dishes weren't great, but overall it was decent. On occasion things were a little undercooked. Breakfast has two types of bacon, sausages, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, beans, so you can make a cooked breakfast style plate. The buffet is really busy at peak times, but you can adjust your timing slightly and it wasn't a problem. The pool atmosphere was fine - no loud music while we were there except a very short pool slide dance thing a couple of times a day. They play relaxing piano jazz most of the time. There were not a lot of Brits there during our stay, mostly Polish and Germans. The pool bar offers ribs and chicken wings and they were excellent. The drink choices are fine and you have self service beer. They serve a variety of cocktails. The beer is the local Bulgarian brand lager, it's OK. Paper cups around the pool, so might be worth bringing a plastic cup. There is self-service wine at the buffet and the white and rose wines were pretty good. They also provide an entry drink in the restaurant which was different each night. A nice touch. Rooms were large and clean. You get showergel, shampoo, conditioner. The TV only had German, Polish and Bulgarian channels and French News (also English language). WiFi was available everywhere and reasonable speed, though throttled. The pool area needs more frequent cleaning as the floor is dirty and some of the loungers a bit grim. They generally stop people reserving the loungers, which is great! There were plenty still at 10am. You get a towel card and can change whenever you want. The service is fine, people don't tend to smile but it's a different culture. The table clearing is prompt and attentive. There was no real evening entertainment, just the kids show early on. You can pay 60l for late checkout by 4pm or 80l for later. They let you keep using the facilties and restaurant until your departure after checkout and there are showers you can use in the spa area, so extending the checkout might not be worth it. . Also case storage (although it's not locked). Main areas of improvement are cleanliness of pool area and better variation of the buffet when the other restaurants are closed. I would recommend this place but maybe better to go first week of September before they close the extra restaurants and stop the entertainment.

Rooms We stayed in room 1242 which had a pool view, the rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable with house keeping done every day. Unfortunately the bathroom constantly smelt of damp and the back of the bathroom door was in a very poor condition due to water damage which looks like it’s been like that for a while. Pool area Plenty of comfy sunbeds available anytime of the day so no need to be up early, and the area seemed to be clean and well kept Restaurants Not always easy to get a table, all areas looked clean and well kept the food was a bit repetitive so a weeks stay was enough. If you’re a non smoker it can be unpleasant with smoking stations right by the doors so smoke is often blown in. Beach and beach cafe Lovely beach area with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The little cafe does a good choice of drinks but unfortunately only does panini either cheese or cheese and salami but don’t offer any salad. Staff We found all the staff polite and helpful Overall a nice holiday with friends if I could change anything it would be ban all the smoking around the pools and restaurants areas
