Great hotel and owner.Fantastic homemade Bulgarian Breakfast!

A last minute booking. Communication was excellent and the owner let us park and check in early. We enjoyed a coffee at the cafe next door whilst they finished preparing our room. The owner greeted us and spent time showing us the best walking route to take, to see the wonderful town of Plovdiv. The hotel is on the doorstep of the beautiful old town. Breakfast was a very tasty typical Bulgarian breakfast served to your table. We loved our overnight stay and would recommend.

Charming hotel with beautifully decorated rooms. Location is perfect for visiting old and new Plovdiv. Very friendly and helpful owner. We had to leave early for the bus to Velikov and the owner arranged for an (homemade) early breakfast and a taxi to the bus-station.

Very glad that we were assigned to stay in the Green room! Each room was decorated in different colours. The whole building is well decorated in wood. Very friendly owner of the place. Spoke well English and giving warm welcome to us. Sufficient heating inside the room to help us stay warm. It has been a cozy and nice stay!

Very highly recommended. Dimitar, the kind & informative host/owner speaks fluent English. Comfortable spotless rooms. Charming old building. Delicious ample breakfast. Great location, walkable to everything tourist & local. Excellent price.

Excellent & friendly service
We stayed a week in the hotel. Dimitri was excellent from the time we arrived and very helpful. Explained all the places to visit and how to get there. Breakfast was good and kept us going all morning and also varied daily. Final day my wife left her phone in the taxi and Dimitri helped us by calling the taxi driver and got him to deliver it it to the bus station.

What a wonderful experience. My friend and I spent two nights in Plovdiv, and decided to stay near the old town, and this seemed the best place to do it. Dimitri and his wife are wonderful hosts. The place is immaculately clean. I have never seen a bathroom this clean in my life. The accommodations are spartan, but clean, and again, very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast in the quaint dining room. There is also a cafe/bar next door, for coffee or drinks (part of the hotel). Dimitri was very helpful, and super friendly. It is rare to have such great service, and it was really appreciated.

We really have nothing but praise for Family Hotel at Renaissance Square. Our room was clean, generously proportioned and already being air conditioned when we arrived. The location is quiet and perfect for the Old Town and sites beyond and parking is possible by arrangement with the owner though, I suspect, can be in short supply at busy times. There were two versions of breakfast on offer but we enjoyed the one with pancakes so much that we declined the omelette version. Upon our arrival, the owner gave us a detailed walkthrough of the sites on a map which we really appreciated because despite being armed with a full itinerary, he highlighted some places that we might have skipped. Throughout, he was helpful and hospitable and added tremendously to our stay!

Really lovely place - the personal touch of a hotel run by the proud owner. It's a few minutes walk from the Old Town, but also has easy access to all the nightlife fun of modern Plovdiv. The friendly host was always around to chat, give advice and make you a cup of coffee to drink on the hotel's terrace cafe - with locals also there, giving the stay an authentic feel. Staying here was the highlight of my trip to Plovdiv.

This small but beautiful family hotel is strategically located on the border of the historic city centre - so you can reach it by car, reserve a parking spot in front of the hotel and forget the car. Exceptional hospitality and excellent breakfast. Undoubtely, one of the best places to stay in Plovdiv.
