I recently stayed at the hotel while attending a conference with SurveyMonkey, and my experience was exceptional from start to finish. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, which made it easy to relax after long conference days. The amenities were fantastic and truly elevated my stay.

The front desk staff were a pleasure to interact with - professional, welcoming, and genuinely kind every time I passed through the lobby.

One of the absolute highlights of my visit was a massage with Natalie. It was truly life-changing. Thank you, Natalie, for working through the stiffness and pain I had in my upper back and for the thoughtful personal recommendation you shared afterward. It made a meaningful difference, and I left feeling renewed. It was such a wonderful experience, and I couldn’t be more satisfied.

My friends and I stayed one night (on Dec 12th) at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver because we’ve had great experiences at other JW properties — including Nashville — and are already planning to stay at the JW Austin next year. Overall, this stay unfortunately didn’t meet the expectations we’ve come to associate with the JW brand.

Check-in was smooth, and the associate assisting us was friendly and professional. While it would’ve been nice if our birthday celebration had been acknowledged, I understand that’s not always guaranteed.

The biggest issue occurred around 3:30 a.m., when a hotel alarm went off and completely disrupted our sleep. I understand that emergencies and system issues can happen and that this may not have been directly within the hotel’s control. However, what was disappointing was the lack of acknowledgment or goodwill gesture at checkout. No discount, points, or apology was offered.

As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I expected a more proactive response, especially given the significant disruption during the night. For a premium property, I would’ve hoped for a stronger recovery effort.

This experience didn’t align with what we’ve consistently received from other JW locations. Parking is also $55 which is pretty steep for self-parking.

The hotel common area is its best part. It's lively, expansive, and has a festive feel, despite not being highly central. However, the personnel situation isn't great. There was only one person ahead of me when I checked in. I was running late, and it took two people at the desk 15 minutes to process two people. They were friendly enough, but just frankly not very competent. It took another 15 minutes to process me, and by then I was so late to my event (I had to give a toast) that I had to abandon my check-in and return later to check in close to midnight. I had to bring my overnighter with me to the event (in the hotel). During this ordeal, there were 3 or 4 concierges sitting there doing apparently nothing and one person going back and forth to the reception counter. So the personnel management and training is tremendously subpar. When you go to a hotel, the first impression stays with you, and here, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The room itself was clean and modern. Nothing to complain about, which is good, because I'm picky about cleanliness. However, unlike most hotels nowadays, there is no wireless or even wired charger or charging cables. The conveniences offered are minimal and basic. It's the small touches that elevate the hotel experience, and here there were no small touches! Having said that, I slept well as the pillows and duvets were comfortable. All in all, maybe a 3.0 experience if I were to rate this as a 5-star hotel or a 4.0 experience if I were to consider this to be a 4-star hotel.

Lots of great things to say about the JW Marriott in Vancouver, service is amazing and everything feels very upscale, spa features are lovely and rooms are quite spacious, highly recommend the executive lounge as well!

Arrived from Alberta to BC from a 12 commute for a funeral to JW property. Booked this place because of availability only for one night . Used my Marriott points thinking this would be a nice treat in such a stressful situation. BIG MISTAKE! Due to a minor glitch and hotel policy on incidentals the check in process was a nightmare. Not only was no one accommodating their lack of professionalism, empathy , and service didn’t go unnoticed. Anyone who is a minority or person of color will be judged and treated like garbage. Maybe due to my image not being up to par since we were travelling, the treatment we received was not acceptable in any way . Manager on duty “Marianne” or Marianna needs to be trained again to be professional not judgemental and do what she is hired to do and represent the brand she works for . She washed her hands of it instantly with no solutions and ran in the back . I asked to speak to her again after the check in was done and was told she would contact me . Returned back to the property 6 hours later called down again to speak to another mamas on duty “Donna” . I sat in the lobby 45 minutes and watched as every other guest was treated fairly and with respect , offered water , help with luggage etc and at this point it was clear we didn’t belong here . Sad , disgusting. The manager at night said there was no notes saying for anyone to contact me but let it slip tha there were “ notes “ that my check in was not smooth as I the guest didn’t comply with the hotel policy ! So clearly the rest of it was left out and it was a one sided note judging me not that I was already checked in and wasn’t happy . For a hotel of this calibre it’s sad that paying guests and guests booking on points are treated differently. Points are still money . Everyone’s situation and booking are different and shouldn’t matter . Offering a bottle of water to someone checking in isn’t gonna kill anyone . It’s called service . Not to mention the room was just ordinary nothing spectacular the fridge didn’t work and there was no water or enough coffee robes slippers nothing was ready in this room. No better than a best western hotel . Was not offered help with luggage and no guest is allowed to use the bell cart. There was absolutely no service provided to me at any level as a guest . It makes sense now . As I was leaving I heard and saw the manager Marianna gossiping about me to the other front desk and bell staff . I felt like I was in high school all over again . Do better as not only are you in the service industry but as a human being. In 50 years this is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had . I will never stay at a JW property again . Not worth the stress and treatment . Embarrassing. Whoever is running this hotel really needs to see this and other reviews as I just seen someone else describe it referring to a holiday in as better ! I couldn’t agree more . Beware before booking at this property.

Great hotel but I felt overpriced, not a great security place as well. A lot of better options in Vancouver with better price. I think I arrived during a game event or something so there are a lot of people from outside sitting in the lobby, running around and they r not even staying in that hotel.No privacy and those people occupied all the seats/sofa in the lobby for 3-4 hrs. The next day the hotel took away all the seats out of nowhere. Such a weird thing

The location is a little far from downtown Downtown vancouver but it's close to costco, next to roger's centre, and 10 mins away from chinatown. love that the room comes with illy coffee, instead of the regular k-pods which is such an amazing touch. overall the service is fabulous, and room is clean and spacious for the 4 of us. however, restaurant-wise the area is a little boring.

We stayed at one of the suites on the corner (Room1001), which is spacious enough, having a living room, and a large bathroom with shower and tub separately. It is clean and nice room that we would love to come back and stay again.

Omg. Server laura was amazing. Her boss was a belittling man to this nice server. I spoke my opinion to both and paid my bill without ordering food and over tipped the server laura. Never thought I would witness something so blanant in my life.

What a great spot. There are two sides to the place, one has live music, the other is more quite. The food is fantastic. I had Lasagna and it was delicious. We had tiramisu for desert and everything in it was made fresh and you could taste the difference. The ice cream is made fresh and is probably the most flavorful I have ever had. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back.

The good: prompt and accommodating service. Food is fresh. Very modern look and feel to the restaurant.

The not so good: restaurant can get very loud when busy, making it difficult to hear servers and others in your party. Servers are prompt, but not necessarily friendly.

The bottom line: fine Italian dining option, though a little pricier.

Went there at 430 pm on a Thursday and there was wry good live Jazz. I'm not a jazz person, but was pleasantly surprised especially hearing it so early in the day. Sat at the bar and got good service. Food was decent (happy hour menu) and the price was right. The portions were quite small, but you get what you pay for. A good jazz bar.
