Reviews
It's within walking distance to much of downtown Vancouver and close to transit. An added bonus was the Cora breakfast place conveniently located right beside the hotel.
When we arrived, we noticed that half the hotel was under renovation, but once we were in the room, we couldn't hear the noise at all. The rooms have slightly older styling, but I would happily trade styling for cleanliness and comfort any day. Overall a great stay and good value for the money. I'll be looking at this place again the next time I come to Vancouver!
They even let me leave my luggage before check-in, and the front desk staff were very kind.
I stayed alone, but they gave me a three-room, two-bedroom unit.
It was too spacious, but I was satisfied
Positives: price was good, location was convenient, and the staff were friendly. The room was fairly clean, the bed linens were fresh, and thankfully there were no bed bugs.
Negatives: the room had a strong old smell that was really unpleasant. Noise was terrible - we could hear everything outside and from other rooms, like there were no real walls or windows. The hotel is under renovation, but this wasn’t mentioned before booking, which was frustrating. Wi-Fi was almost unusable.
Overall, the place badly needs renovation. Maybe in the future it will get better, but right now I wouldn’t stay here again.
Check other hotels for better deals. It is hard to get your refund in any case through the hotel front desk. There is a very noisy bar under the hotel.
This hotel could be a wonderful place with the right management.
The cleaning ladies were nice ones I complained. We entered the room, and it was FOR SURE not cleaned after the previous guests. Piss all over the toilet, shaved hair in the sink, just disgusting!
The room has a door to the next room . Neighbor was smoking weed and was super loud. We could hear his mobile phone ring in the middle of the night like it was in our room.
It is a perfect location for visiting the downtown and the price is ok, but maaan, I would pay more and stay in a cleaner and quiter place.

Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
We never even got drinks which were simple and easy to make. When we did get our food, one of our orders were wrong and the soup in the noodles smelled way too fishy for our tastes. We didn't finish our food and in the end, paid $70 for something we never finished and left unimpressed. Overall, this restaurant had terrible service, crappy and not authentic food, and overpriced food. Not recommending this to others and definitely not returning. If I could, I would have given this place 0 stars.
A lot of the waitresses don't speak Japanese, and speak VERY minimal English, so you have to repeat your order many times. If you speak Korean, however, ordering your food will be infinitely easier.
After waiting 35 minutes for an appetizer, I figured they forgot the order and reminded my server. She apologized, and said she would put the order in. We waited another 20 minutes and I asked the same server for the ETA on the appy, and she said she forgot to put the order in AGAIN.
Another 20 minutes later, I asked for the manager who came and said there were no more orders for our table. I told him the situation and he said he would comp the dish for us (which was a nice gesture, but didn't change anything as we were already extremely upset).
The Ebisu on Broadway is incomparably better; you're better off driving across the bridge and just dining there.
Wanted to grab a quick bite with a big group and they seated us right away... except the booth was made for probably 8 people maximum.
They said they had a group that was about to leave and we would be moving there once they had the table prepped. We waited for half an hour. We then threatened to leave and they insisted we order and when the food comes the table would be ready.
Surely enough we get our food before we get seated at our table. We had to wait another 15 minutes to finally get seated. And to add, we had to move our food ourselves.
We immediately asked for our bill and that did not come for another half an hour... and of course with a big group “the computer automatically adds gratuity”...
Decent place with good food but service needs to be better.
