The metro is a few minutes walk away which will pretty much take you anywhere.
I would stay here again.
I booked a room with 2 beds (a double and single). It was smaller than I expected, and it's only 1 washroom which located inside of the master bedroom, so it's not convenient.
There's a small resting area before entering to our room which was facing other houses. Therefore it's awkward to have other people staring into our room. There's no privacy at all. I think the hotel should have inform whoever that is booking this room, at least keep them alert!
And the price is pretty high for the room, but because I was travelling with my parents, and I want them to experienced something different. Will I pay the price to come back here again, probably not, since there are so many other options with cheaper price.
This hotel is just outside central Sea World so you are not far from the action, it’s also off the main road so you don’t hear traffic noise. However, you can hear if people get a little rowdy in the restaurant just below.
Note, the hotel is not accessible, it is stairs only and the path to the rooms is not flat so dragging wheeled luggage is a little difficult. The staff helped me haul my bag for check in so that was nice.
The room was at a glance clean but I walked around in my socks and picked up a lot of dust and hair. Also the bathroom is tiled and it shows mildew in the grout lines. They do provide you with shower shoes to use.
The mattress is firm, but the staff will put down a couple duvets to give you some cushion upon request.
The staff were very responsive on WeChat so don’t worry about a language barrier. Plus they were very helpful when given a request.
The breakfast is nice (not a buffet, but single dish) but it will only provide one cup of coffee. When you want to have a cappuccino/latte you need to pay an additional fee of 5 yuan? 50 cents in euro? What a strange fee to ask from your guests + coffee and tea should be complimentary/included in room rate as per usual standards.
Secondly, it is strange that the hotel does not provide any table if you just want to have a drink. We were told that everything is already fully booked because it is busy in the holiday season. Which is strange as you would expect, as a hotel guest, to have at least a place to have a drink in your hotel.
Lastly, the housekeeping cleans but leaves empty bottles in the room and things like that: does not feel cleaned thoroughly.
Overall, would not recommend this hotel, especially for the service...
Surrounded by garden, the property is really quite stunning and incredible value.
Would recommend everyone to take a closer look at this option when traveling to Shekou area.
Pro: quiet environment for sleep in Cons: old facility if you compare this with high class hotel
