Hostels in China are not like the other backpacker spots that you'll find in Europe or south-east Asia, as I'm sure a lot of guests here were long term residents. The service desk didn't speak any English so check in wasn't easy. The corridors were pretty dirty and tired, and in the dorms there was a large window into the shower for some reason? Most dorm mates were pretty heavy snorers and stank of cigarettes but didn't cause me any trouble as the only foreigner.
You're close to the metro and a small shopping centre, with the bund not too far away. There are much better options in Shanghai, especially if you're a foreign tourist.
In addiction, there aren’t rules for the room sharing. Hairdryer and shower at midnight or at 05.50 am, door slammed at every hour during the night..
I honestly don’t have any good reference for this hostel.
The location is not far from yu garden
The building is old and has a strange smell. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really desperate.
