Lakeview Hotel in Kunming

The hotel is located right by Dianchi Lake, with separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians. There's an observation deck not far from the hotel, and it's about 800-900 meters to Haigeng Park and Haihong Wetland. However, you still have to walk further to get to the cable car station, and I estimate the dam is even further – I didn't go there. The hotel is 2.3 kilometers from Xingti Road Station on Metro Line 5. Our package included one complimentary drop-off service to the metro station, which was really good. It would be even better if they offered round-trip shuttle service to the metro for backpackers.

However, there aren't many shops around the hotel. For dining, it's either the hotel restaurant or ordering takeout. Park 1903 Commercial Street is about 3 kilometers away, so it's more suitable if you have a car.

The hotel service was excellent. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and drivers were all incredibly gentle and friendly. The manager even proactively helped us with our luggage.

The hotel is quite understated; in fact, the observation deck not far away offers amazing sunrise views, but they never promote it.

Hotel is just by the lake, very convenient if you plan to spend a day at the lake area. Service is warm and welcoming.

The location is excellent, right by Dianchi Lake, making it very convenient to feed the seagulls in winter. There was a bit of car noise at night, but overall, the environment is very peaceful. You can go up to the spa on the upper floor, which is very relaxing, and the breakfast is quite varied.

The room was comfortable, and the breakfast spread was impressive. The hotel service was excellent; the bellboy was enthusiastic and even helped carry our luggage to the room. The hotel also provided a dedicated shuttle service to the Ethnic Village. The golf course behind the hotel offers a beautiful environment, and it's conveniently located just across the road from Dianchi Lake. The only issue was the inconsistent water pressure, which made showering a bit unpredictable with hot and cold bursts. Otherwise, everything else was great.

When I visit Kunming in winter, I really like staying at this hotel because I can enjoy the hot springs. Although it's an older establishment, the overall quality is still decent, and the location is convenient for feeding seagulls. The hotel even provides bread for feeding them. The toiletries have always been high quality. Since I was traveling with a child, the housekeeping staff proactively asked if we needed more bottled water, which was very thoughtful. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but the food tastes good. The rice noodles are particularly delicious. I forgot something in the room when checking out, and the hotel called to remind me and then helped mail it back. Thank you.

very nice and friendly counter staff. best location if you plan to visit Haigeng park or Xishan. my kids love to stay here, which is the most convenient to feed seagull. seagulls in Dianchi or Haigeng park are more active than those in Cuihu park or green lake park. some more useful support by this property is to privide free seagull food, free drink and after tea.

Overall I was very impressed with the hotel the rooms are clean and pretty well appointed and the service was very efficient although perhaps reserved ( which is not a bad thing although I do personally like to see a few more smiles) I was there to play golf for three days and my family to explore Kunming and the hotel provided a good location to do exactly that. We enjoyed our stay and the attached golf course is impressive and I will certainly go back.

Good location just by the lake and next to the golf course. Unfortunately, there are no further discounts for the golf course for hotel guests.

I came to visit Kunming with my mom and my kid. This hotel is fantastic! The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful; location of the hotel is right by Dian Chi and Haigeng Park. Hotel provides rides to the Yunnan Nation Villages which was super cool! The breakfast was great - lots of choices for the whole family. We ate four dinners at the hotel restaurant. They are delicious! Would definitely recommend it to others!

Very close to Dianchi Lake, just opposite the hotel. Bread provided by hotel everyday to feed the Seagulls is very convenient for taking photos with the Seagulls

My experience with Lakeview hotel was very comfortable and I enjoyed lake side walk with so much cleanliness and greenery.
