Stari Grad Boutique-Hotel in Dubrovnik

This hotel provided us with a fantastic hospitality experience. After encountering a problem, the entire staff went far out of its way to make our stay as totally enjoyable as possible, from beginning to end. They were highly responsive, courteous, and genuinely interested in providing an unforgettable hospitality experience. We would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.

What a wonderful gem of a hotel. The ideal location and aesthetically pleasing deco are only out shone by the exemplary staff. Each and everyone goes the extra mile to offer warm and generous hospitality.

It's is not the cheapest place to stay but we left feeling every penny was well spent.
The Above 5 restaurant offered delicious food. However I would not return due to the 2 reservation slots 6.30 (too early) 9.30pm ( too late) options. We chose the later slot but eating dessert at midnight spoilt the evening for me. The policy contradicts the overall ambience of the hotel where nothing is too much trouble. However this is quite a common policy in some of the more popular restaurants.

From the moment we checked in, we were treated like royalty. You get what you pay for, so yes it is pricey, but if you don't mind splurging a bit, the service and location for me is totally worth it. You walk outside and you are a few steps away from the main street Stradun which is buzzing with life. Fresh water poured upon arrival. They carried out bags up to the room since there is no elevator. The room was good and has a comfortable bed. It did get a little warm in the room as the AC wasn't pumping that great but I think it's more of a Balkan thing and I don't fault the hotel for it. Breakfast views on the rooftop terrace are amazing! The breakfast was probably the best we had in Old Town. Again breakfast isn't cheap, but that's not why you pick this hotel.
The gentleman at the bar (Khun) always asked if we needed anything and they gave us numerous cappuccino's/waters on the house while we waited for excursions. There were plenty of people that were so nice to us (sorry I can't remember the names) but we appreciated everyone that was so kind to us. They made us do as little work as possible to enjoy all of our time in Dubrovnik. The city is just opening up so it is still isn't as busy as they say it usually gets. It was PERFECT.
What really did it for us is the bearded manager Sepi. We had an issue getting into Bosnia (didn't have a negative PCR test only our vaccine card) so our trip was in jeopardy as we had hotels lined up for Bosnia and Montenegro. Feeling defeated from getting denied at the border, we came back like lost dogs looking for help. Our plan was to rearrange our Montenegro trip first and make our Bosnia trip second as to give us enough time to get a PCR test done. Montenegro is ok with accepting vaccine card for entry. This is where Sepi stepped in, sat us down, got us coffees, and called both hotels and did not let up until the changed out reservations and even got us a discounted rate at the original hotel we booked in ANOTHER country. I mean this was so not necessary, I truly believe he did this because he is a helpful and genuine person. I don't want to go into too many details, but just say he went out of his way and spent almost 30 minutes arguing with other hotels (to no benefit of his own) to make sure we had a good trip during our vacation.

We had a drink on the above 5 restaurant roof terrace after a walk around the city walls. View of the city are hard to beat and the service was impeccable. So much so that we returned thrill owing day for dinner and the food was also excellent

Great breakfast on the rooftop here!! Delicious with great views of the city. The staff was extremely friendly, and even researched some transportation schedules for us. Special thanks to the receptionist!
