The rooms are fairly clean, but several things need repair, such as the ceiling, showers, and hairdryers. The staff speak little or no English, which can make communication difficult.
Breakfast is okay, but nothing special. Overall, it’s a decent option mainly because of its location.
The hotel needs a makeover
However the next room and a mold smell and the AC was not working. I asked to be moved the following morning to another room with AC and was told maintenance would come and repair and there was no need to move.
I waited 2-3 hours and maintenance never arrived so I did not stay additional nights.
The rooms are nice size with balcony, and generally clean.
10 minutes walk to the beach. 3 minutes walk to the bank, currency exchange and tourist SIM card purchase.
I had an amazing experience thanks to Gregory at the front desk! From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive. He went out of his way to make sure everything was smooth — from check-in to helping with local recommendations around El Cortecito. Gregory always greeted me with a smile and genuine kindness, which really made my stay feel personal and comfortable.
It’s rare to find someone who truly enjoys what they do, but Gregory clearly does. He made me feel right at home. If you’re staying at Hotel Check-In El Cortecito, you’ll be in great hands with him.
