I booked two rooms for a two-night stay, hoping to experience a vintage-style hotel. If that's what you're after, this place might be worth considering, but it gets very noisy until midnight, so it's not recommended for comfort. I understand these are hardware issues, and I was prepared to give it a 4.8 rating. However, what happened next clearly points to management problems.

(1) Breakfast restaurant: On the second morning, I ordered both coffee and tea. The coffee arrived, but the tea never did, even by the time I left. On the third day, as I had to leave early, I went to the restaurant at 7 AM. I was told to wait 'just a minute,' but 10 minutes later, nothing was ready, and they were still cleaning with a vacuum cleaner. My rating dropped to 4.0.

(2) Dinner included with the room: The dinner was truly subpar. We only went on the first night and opted for afternoon tea upstairs instead, which might have shown more goodwill, but this point doesn't affect my overall rating.

(3) Check-out: They insisted on inspecting the room, which felt really cheap. They even claimed I consumed two chocolate bars from the mini-fridge! I hadn't even opened the fridge door. Do guests have to inventory items upon check-in every single time? I was furious; this felt like an insult. I'd already spent a lot of money, and they were quibbling over such a petty amount. The front desk staff apologized, but surely, after such an incident, management should have stepped in to apologize? My rating dropped to 3.0.

(4) Our car was valet-parked by the hotel, with the keys left at the front desk. On our third day, when we were leaving, the valet person was nowhere to be found. A waiter had to take us to the parking lot to retrieve the car. We planned to leave at 8 AM but ended up departing at 9 AM. After we hit the road, we noticed the mileage was off by 100-200 km (car rentals in Egypt are typically limited to 150 km per day, so we were already over). The staff's quality is seriously questionable. This could only lead to a bad review.

In summary: We tipped generously. The hotel has adopted the English exterior, but when it comes to service and integrity, they still have a long way to go.
