Reviews
It was extremely noisy, especially at night, making it very difficult to get any proper rest. The room was not clean and did not feel well maintained. There was no room service, and no tea or bottled water provided in the room. The beds were worn out and very uncomfortable, which made sleeping even worse.
Breakfast was exactly the same every day, with very limited options, and there wasn’t even a proper place to sit and eat comfortably.
Although the staff were friendly on the surface, they were not helpful when we raised concerns. Communication was difficult as they hardly spoke English, and we had to ask several times for simple things before anything was done.
Overall, this is the worst place I have stayed in so far. I would not recommend it.
This place should not be called a hotel. It is essentially a hostel operating out of a very old, poorly maintained building that looks close to collapsing. The condition of the property is nothing like what is implied online.
We booked this place through Booking.com, but upon arrival, we were told that the property was “full”. Immediately after that, they tried to redirect us to another hotel they are affiliated with — a different property with terrible ratings on Google. This clearly felt like a deliberate bait-and-switch tactic.
Because of this, I had to spend several hours on the same day searching for alternative accommodation, physically visiting multiple hotels, after already arriving tired and with luggage. It completely disrupted our plans and caused unnecessary stress.
While waiting at the reception, it became obvious that this is not an isolated incident. I personally witnessed or was informed that they do this with many other customers as well — overbooking on platforms and then pushing guests to inferior properties.
Based on this experience, it is hard to trust the reviews on Booking.com for this place. It strongly appears that paid or manipulated reviews are being used to misrepresent the reality.
This was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Avoid this place entirely if you value transparency, your time, and peace of mind. There are far better and more honest accommodations available elsewhere.
and the staff were very kind and welcoming. The facilities are average and could benefit from some upgrades
This is not a mistake; it’s deliberate overbooking and bait-and-switch behavior. They take reservations they clearly cannot honor and dump guests when it’s inconvenient for them. Completely unprofessional and dishonest operation. If you value your time, money, or sanity, avoid this place entirely. Scam-level service and zero integrity.
This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. The hotel is extremely loud at all times, day and night. The windows in the room were broken and damaged, so all the noise from outside came straight in, making it impossible to sleep.
The staff was completely unmotivated and unhelpful. They showed no interest in solving any problems or caring about guests. To make things even worse, during the night the staff themselves were playing very loud music right next to the rooms, laughing and shouting as if this was not a hotel.
There was absolutely no respect for guests who wanted to rest. I would strongly not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cairo. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.
Overall a decent hotel in the heartbeat of the old city and shows character.
The television did not work and the internet was hit and miss but we managed. They also provide a simple breakfast in the morning
Breakfast is basic. Well when we asked about breakfast, we were told by the girl in reception that it's Egyptian beans, falafel, cheese etc, but then she brought us only boiled eggs, triangle cheese, jam, bread and tomatoes with cucumber. When asked where are beans and falafel, she said it's not allowed in the hostel....yet 20 minutes later, when we left our room, she was sitting in the reception with other guests offering them beans and falafel? Do they give different breakfast to different guests depending who they like? Never mind, we wouldnt eat it anyway, but no need to be so obvious.
I think the best of all is the location of this place, opposite is a famous bakery so you can get your baked goods and cakes there and round the corner is great coffee shop called SIP. Also this hostel is based on first floor, so not really suitable for those with mobility problems as I am not sure if the lift works.
The hotel wasn’t clean the mattress very bad not comfortable at all
Bathroom was dirty not clean panting there is water leak, door lock very bad keep jamming the staff friendly but that’s not enough to make me go back again
