The position of the hotel was the best. Good views from the balcony over the bay and free beach with direct access to the drop off for snorkelling. Amazing reef. That's why I booked the hotel despite the bad reviews. Breakfast was great especially for a vegetarian. Good happy staff. The real issue was the room. It was the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in and I am 58. The condition of the linen, sheets and pillow cases the curtains and carpet and sofa was disgusting I put one of the ragged sheets over the soa to sit on yet got a friction burn of the arm rest because the fabric was so worn and decrepit and got an infection. The fridge was rusting and dirty with mould clumps in the freezer. On of the two cups was cracked right the way threw with chips in the edge. There was nothing else in the kitchen other than a kettle. All the drawers has crumbs and food in them. The floors generally were dirty and dusty with cigarette ash etc...exhausting to write but the room was staggeringly bad. The double bed had planks missing from the support so I slept in the front room on the single. Lots of mosquitoes in the room. Took about three days to bring the population under control plus sleeping with repellant on the skin. Awful. A bad experience but the reef helped me cope!
