Hôtel Eiffel Petit Louvre in Paris

Very bad experience. The reception staff was rude and unprofessional. After paying for the room by bank card, I was suddenly asked to pay an extra €100 as a security deposit, which was never mentioned before payment. When I questioned this, the receptionist said it was hotel policy and that I must pay.

When I asked for a refund, I was told it was impossible. The way he spoke was disrespectful, especially considering that I was with my wife. Although the room was booked for two people, after paying the deposit we were stopped from going to the room and asked to pay an additional €12 just to register my wife.

The staff clearly took advantage of the late time and the fact that we had already paid. I strongly advise others to be careful.

Horrible treatment at the front desk today when we checked in. My two best friends and I were so excited for our first trip to Paris, and upon walking in to this hotel our spirits were immediately downturned. We are three smart women who were immediately looked down upon and talked to like we were stupid by the man at the front desk. We did not realize that we booked a room for two instead of three guests, but did not presume this to be a major issue. We offered to pay the price of a 3 person room for our stay, offered to pay any sort of fee, offered to do pretty much anything to keep our reservation but the only thing the man said was “Not possible” to every option we offered. It was 8PM, and we had a large amount of luggage, and we looked at the man and asked him if he wanted us to just walk out into the street and find another hotel- and he looked at us and just shrugged. He did not provide us with recommendations of other places to stay either when we asked. We then asked to be refunded for the room, and he simply said “Not Possible” again, and also the manager who’s name was Alex was not in the hotel and was not available for us to talk to. The only option that was given to us was to purchase a very expensive one person room to accommodate the third person in our party, as we couldn’t get refunded for the rest of our room. Also, you have to leave your room key with the front desk each time you enter and exit the hotel. We will be speaking with the manager tomorrow- and do not recommend staying at this hotel due to the poor service.
