My "deluxe room with a view" had no window to the outside. It looked on to the hotel lobby and reeked of air freshener. I spent one night there and coughed for days.
Before sending me up a flight of winding stairs the receptionist said "it's up a few steps". They lie as a way of doing business.
The experience of staying there is also just generally unpleasant/ low-class, e.g. someone has to buzz you in the door each time you enter the hotel. Rotten experience in every way.
