The best thing about the Ryad is its location which a short walk from the station and, very close to the Old Port. The rooms are simple but clean, and while there is no lift, the concierge was happy to carry my (very heavy) suitcase up to the top of the building.

A very quiet establishment in the heart of Marseilles. Welcoming staff. Room was spacious and well kept. Good breakfast - only wish the coffee was hotter

The hotel is located in a beautiful old building very central. Not the fanciest area but also not the roughest, close to everything. We got a nice room on the 4th floor with a sunny balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple and stylish, but the renovation was probably done a while ago. This is not a luxury hotel, but a good choice for the price. Thank you!

Our room in the annex at the back of the garden was lovely: quiet, clean, spacious (on two levels), well decorated. The staff is helpful, always available. The garden is a big bonus and the hotel is very well positioned in Marseilles and at walking distance from the main train station and the Old Harbour.

My husband and I visited Marseille for a weekend and this hotel Le Ryad was recommended. It did not disappoint, it is in the center of Marseille with restaurants of every sort on your doorstep. It isn’t the type of hotel you will hang around in for hours. It is a hotel you go to when you want to get out and see the city. It was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Hotel Le Ryad is a super cute, Moroccan-themed collection of 14 rooms, located minutes from the Port of Marseille, France.

Given that the Earth seems like an ant under a magnifying glass these days, I'll start with the climate control.

Every room is equipped with remote-controlled AC that can be dialed down as low as you'd like, has an oscillation feature, sleep timer, and more.

No two rooms are the same, each with its own theme and decor which my new fiancée and I absolutely loved.

For 14€ each, a continental breakfast can be ordered in advance, which is served on the patio until 10am. Don't forget to put your order in the night before at the absolute latest, as they designate food individually per order.

All of the staff here - especially Valerie - were an absolute pleasure to be around, and made our stay so welcoming and wonderful.

The staff speaks excellent English, and Google Translate makes up for any nuances in communication (I cannot stress how integral that one app has been for us speaking with locals, and they really appreciate when you try to converse in the local language).

For 10€ per wash load (vs 10€ per shirt in Paris) they will wash, dry and fold your clothes at the temperatures requested.

There are mini fridges in every room as well. This was perhaps the most unique and charming of the five hotels we have stayed in so far in Europe and Spain, and we will remember our time here fondly.

Also, the price is unbeatable. I think we paid about 125€ per night with breakfast included in that figure, leaving more money for you and your loved ones to enjoy the beautiful city of Marseille.

Give Hôtel Le Ryad a shot, this is one we will never forget in the best of ways.
