This place is a typical tourist trap. The property looks gorgeous on the picture but from the moment we woke in, we felt unwelcome and trapped.
The staff seemed unhappy and busy exclusively writing fake reviews for the hotel. When we asked for a room on a higher floor (the river makes a roaring noise), we were told all rooms were booked – while dozens of room keys were hanging behind the reception. At breakfast (where we were alone) all tables were dirty, with piling dirty dishes and it smelled accordingly. There was no coffee in the pot, no juice, no tea cups for hot drinks. When we asked again and again to have at least a tea cup, the staff reacted as if we were a nuisance. It’s particularly striking in the country famous for hospitality and great food.
When it rained outside and we asked to borrow one of the umbrellas standing by the hotel entrance, we were told it was not possible. We asked again. They said the umbrellas were not meant for us.
Dead cockroach on the floor of our room was a cherry on top!

Apparently there are two unrelated Magnolia hotels, we stayed for only one night in the one directly on the river. The hotel had a superb location, right next to the water and close to the city center. We just crossed the bridge, walked a bit and ended up in Central Kutaisi City Park, a lively place lined with shops and filled with locals. Our hotel room had a great balcony, otherwise it was ok, nothing fancy, but clean, the beds and the shower and the hairdryer were fine. We didn’t use the air conditioner, the river provided a cool breeze and a lovely sound so we just slept with the windows open. We didn’t try the breakfast either, due to an early morning flight. I’d recommend the hotel, it was a perfect place to spend a couple of pre-flight hours. To the airport normally is a 30 min drive but we had an insane taxi driver and we made it in 20 min.

A lovely hotel by the Rioni River with a charming country-style concept. The rooms are spacious, offer river views, and are clean, including the bed linens and towels. The receptionist is friendly, attentive, and speaks English. Guests receive a 20% discount at the hotel’s own restaurant.
The breakfast is decent, though cultural differences might mean it doesn’t fully match your taste preferences. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. The location is pleasant, within walking distance to the city center, and the rooms are comfortable.

Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere was charming & welcoming, everything was clean and well-organized. You can tell they really care about quality and customer experience. Highly recommended.

Love everything about this hotel, the location is superb, room with balcony overlooking the river, the sound of peace, stuff is very friendly and helpful. Room is the very clean and well prepared. The breakfast is the best(of all the restaurants I tried in Georgia) the taste is soooo good. Successfully set my very first impression of Georgia to the max.

The hotel has 2 points overall.
I liked the administrator’s work and the Wi-Fi worked stably, but I didn’t like the following:
1) Linen and pastels smell damp.
2) Shared balcony with another room, not locked. Although there were keys, they did not work.
3) Breakfast is very poor. For those who do not eat meat, there is nothing to eat.
4) Glasses for water were not immediately placed and the glasses themselves were poorly washed from tea/coffee.
And keep in mind that of course no one speaks Russian, only English. Long live Russophobia.

A good, small hotel is located a little away from the chain bridge across the Enguri, within quick walking distance of the old town, shops, the Colchis fountain and other local attractions of which there are few but they have a place to be!

Best location! walking distance from Bagrati Cathedral and Colchis Fountain. Cheap price for a night including a good breakfast. Staffs are helpful. Room is good, with tea, coffee water, some toiletries. Bring your own slippers and toiletries better. We got a balcony with a nice view of the river. Down the hotel there is a bakery, a little grocery. Definitely I recommend staying in this hotel!
