Hotel Mkudro in Kutaisi

Keep a distance from that "hotel". When we arrived, we found that our booked room with separate beds and view was given to others. The staff gave as the worst room we ever had. Bad bathroom ventilation, water is cold, sometimes it runs hot. TV does not work at all. We were in may, the room was damp and cold, small window and bad view.

Really bad experience.
Got worse room than I booked and there was no space to sit down, unpack luggage or basically do anything. The doors to balcony couldn't be closed properly. Didn't feel welcome
Only cash payments and I didn't get any reciept.

Worst hotel-experience of my life, even criminal.

When we arrived, the owner told us that the room we had booked months in advance had spontaneously been given to other guests so there was no space for us. As we complained, he got angry but organized a (cheeper and smaller) room in another hotel.

Because we hat to go to the airport the following day, we had also already booked (and paid) a driver from Hotel Mkudro in advance. The owner sent the driver to our hotel, but when we arrived at the airport, it turned out, that the driver had not been paid by the owner and would not let us go to the airport without us paying him - no allegation to the driver at all, who obviously did not know the background of the story. So we called the owner, who insulted us and threatened us with calling the police at the airport and telling them that we had betrayed him. After all, we saw no other option than to get ourselves new money and pay the driver (again).

We had booked via booking.com and as we came back, the owner had told the website, that we had not come to his place so that we could not give him a bad review there.

After having visited a dozen hotels in Georgia with invariable great experiences and kind hosts it really was a shame to end the holiday that way. There are many fantastic hotels to go in Kutaisi, so once I come back there I will keep big distance to Hotel Mkudro and especially the owner.

Be careful with this hotel, as you don't get what you've paid for. We got a basement window room and that was considered to be a Deluxe room for two. In the morning it was impossible to sleep, as the cleaning lady and someone from the staff was literally screaming all morning. Paper walls make it all unbearable when you want to rest. We also found a black hair in the towels. And there was no water during the day. Not recommended.

I reserve in booking with breakfast but they charge me extra and that are so noisy
