Wyndham Grand Hotel in Tbilisi

The hotel has a good location, right next to Republic Square. From the airport, take the 201 or 100 airport bus and get off at the second-to-last stop. It's a short walk along a street lined with restaurants. Taking the 201 bus from the airport is even closer, as it's located on the main road behind the hotel.

The room I was given was at the end of the hotel corridor, facing Republic Square. However, since it's only on the 11th floor, I could only see the upper part of the square's buildings (which are lit up at night). The rest was blocked by the surrounding buildings, and because these buildings are below the 11th floor, their tops were completely obscured.

The room facilities were rather old, and the door lock was a bit stiff, requiring manual operation to close. Management was rather lax; room cleaning was done very late each day. On the hottest days, around 3 or 4 pm when I went back to rest, the room hadn't been cleaned yet. They usually didn't come until after 5 pm. One day, I had to ask twice before they finally came to clean. I witnessed them empty the trash can, change towels in the bathroom, wipe the table, and make the bed. Of the three times they cleaned, they only vacuumed once and wiped the mirror once. Bottled water was provided plentifully, though.

The suite I booked had a balcony, which was a plus, but the room didn't appear as large as advertised.

There were quite a few Muslims around.

Overall, it was very poor value for money.
