Mercure Tbilisi Old Town in Tbilisi

The most unprofessional and helpless front desk staff of the whole Accor group. I booked a room in Hotel with Trip.com for myself and my girlfriend. The reservation of the room
was under mine and her’s name. She arrived in Tblisi earlier than me and wanted to check in: as said the reservation was under her name and my name. She presented the booking sheet at front desk and they did not check her in. I called the hotel and asked why that? They said “
for security reason”. Unbelievable! When I arrived I had a confrontation
with the
most ignorant front desk staff ever: they insisted -
with most unreal excuses- that tuis was the rule of hotel : both guest should check in together “ . It would be hilarious if not my girlfriend was there,in hotel,with a reservation under her name and fully paid and those
****** did not let her in! I finally arrived at hotel late at night and again receptionist was not able to give me a proper reason of their behavior. Finally saturday morning I went down again to reception and finally the Front desk manager appeared and admitted their mistake.
Anyway this does not mitigate what happened: we were denied the entrance without any reason and most serious is that even if I called from my country the hotel while she was denied the check in,well the
front desi staff pretended to have the
right to deny check in. I even wrote to tue General Manager of Hotel: so far I have not got any anwer.
this hotel is pure
crap: stay off and book any other hotel in Tblisi not this one
