Panoramahotel in Bad Hindelang

The Panorama Hotel Oberjoch is a beautiful, quietly located hotel. The initial contact by phone was not good and rather rude and unfriendly. Thankfully, the tone changed after we made the reservation. The room was nice. However, at that price, I expect different amenities (no bathtub), and the mattress wasn't comfortable either. I wish the reception had informed us about the option of having a minibar delivered to the room. The spa area is nice, but there are too few loungers. The lunch buffet is unfortunately very limited and hardly worth mentioning. The cake buffet is of poor quality. There are no freshly baked cakes, which is very disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast is adequate, but nothing more. The bread baskets were frequently empty and were refilled far too late. The fruit selection is also quite good in the early morning, but it is insufficiently replenished (strawberries, for example, are seasonal). The hot chocolate was machine-made and much too sweet and watery. I had completely different expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, but I find the carpeting in the restaurant area unhygienic. One employee simply swept the breadcrumbs from the table by hand and let them fall on the floor. Astonishing and unacceptable in a hotel that charges such prices. All in all, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this hotel. It's in a good location, but the price-performance ratio isn't right. We won't be coming back.

Overall, we felt very comfortable! Our room (junior suite) had a bathtub in the middle of the room and was otherwise very well-equipped and clean (daily refills of coffee pods, etc.). The spa area is also very attractive and clean. The sauna infusions were a particular highlight. However, in our opinion, the price-performance ratio is absolutely unacceptable! The hotel charges prices starting at €500 per room per night and wants to be seen as a luxury hotel. The hotel is very good, but it cannot justify these prices in any way. The service was completely lacking. We had to wait ages at the table for our drink orders to finally be taken. And there were also several mix-ups with the food. The five-course menu was delicious. However, one would expect all courses to be served at a luxury hotel. Instead, we had to assemble our own salad from the buffet. Often, the containers were empty and weren't refilled quickly enough. Overall, the staff was unfortunately not very attentive. We had to ask them to wipe down the table. The previous guest's crumbs were simply wiped onto the floor and left there. Such service in no way justifies the prices (a bottle of water for €8, for example). Half the price per night would be reasonable at most. We could generally recommend the hotel, but unfortunately not at this price point.
