Hotel Rösslwirt in Lam

We stayed at the Hotel Rösslwirt for a week in August 2022. Overall we enjoyed our stay there, but I'd like to give a fair and thorough review.

Let's start with the positive things.

The rooms are nicely furnished: the bed was comfortable, the furniture was all in tip-top shape, the bathroom was nicely done.
The female staff was very helpful and friendly.
The location was good: easy access to a nearby park, the Osser Bad, and all the regional sights.
The dinners we ate at the hotel were tasty and nicely served.
The hotel accepts guests with dogs; we really appreciate this.

Now some negative factors of our stay:
Our room, while nicely furnished, was rather small.
Breakfast was confusing: seats were assigned on day 2 of our stay (what happened on day 1?) and it was unclear who was in charge of things. For example, guests had open access to the drink dispenser behind the bar (an unusual situation at any time--anyone heard of social distancing?) but guests had to ask the staff for coffee or hot water for tea. This was difficult to understand, but we got used to it. Admittedly, the hotel was very full during our stay, so this may have contributed to the sense of chaos.

We experienced a fair amount of noise from the roads nearby, including garbage trucks, delivery trucks, etc. I recognize that this is quite normal, especially in the summer with the windows open, but it should be mentioned.

The male staff members were less friendly -- consistently -- than the female staff members. I realize that these men were all Czech and not German, so I understand why they used the "du" form instead of "Sie" for us, but their communication with us was below par. There was an issue with our voucher that needed to be communicated with us, and the man spoke very loudly to us, in our faces, at the breakfast table; maybe he doesn't hear well, but it was really unpleasant. Another time, when we had finished our dinner, another male colleague simply brought our bill to the table (was it closing time? No more beer for us today?) and told us it was time to pay; our further encounters with him at breakfast were similarly brusque. What's going on with these men?

A neutral factor: maybe the term "Wanderhotel" is aspirational and not yet reality, but I don't understand why this moniker should apply. Marketing?

We may visit again.

We enjoyed a delicious and lovingly prepared lunch here. Will definitely be back!

Standard hotel, good food, specially meat products (there is a butcher shop too). Friendly staff.
