Very frenly staff & good breakfast

The property is older, but the room was cozy, clean and well-designed. The provided breakfast was quite good, and I appreciated the availability of different syrups to use in my morning latte.

We enjoyed staying here and would stay here again if we're ever in the area!

This place is everything you want a pension in Bavaria to be. It’s been 24 years since we have been in Bavaria and were hoping to still find a quaint pension like we’ve stayed in before. There are a lot of modern options as well as Airbnbs, but this was exactly what we wanted. We wished we had stayed longer than the few nights we were there. The view from the front is a postcard in and of itself. Being outside of the city/town, you felt more like you were in a little village. There are restaurants you can easily walk to across the street and down the road. The Klamm and other hikes are nearby and don’t require a vehicle to reach them. We saw so many hikers of all ages even in the middle of October. The autumn leaves in this area are just magical. But the real magic is with the owners of the pension. Their welcome is the warmest one you’ll ever receive. You feel like family and friends as soon as you arrive. The man speaks 5 languages, and the lady speaks multiple ones and is working on more. Their kindness was infectious. I think I missed seeing them each day as much as we missed staying there. The pension itself is cozy, comfortable, and has everything you need. We had a room with a double bed and a futon. They provided plenty of bedding and towels. We slept with the windows open and enjoyed the sound of the rushing water in the brook as we went to sleep. We were amazed at the number of options at breakfast each day. From sausages to omelettes to yogurt to pastries and breads to fruit and more. They offer multiple hot tea options and coffee choices. They even have all of the syrup options for your coffee that you could want. The breakfast room has a beautiful view of the mountains to enjoy while you eat. Coffee and tea are available for free 24/7 on the small adjacent terrace. A sauna is available for guest use as well. Included with your room is free local transportation on the town bus system as well as discounts on local activities. Free parking is located in front of the pension and it is easy to use.

Found Pension Bergbach to be a perfect fit. Better value than staying right in Berchtesgaden and for us a perfect location. Convenient enough to do anything on the area like Eagle Nest and Koenigsee. Ideal for those who enjoy hiking. One of the 2 best restaurants we’ve experienced so far in Germany a five minute walk away. Free parking on site. Great breakfast to start the day. The host is incredibly passionate, kind, informative, and accommodating. The Wimback hike is right across the road and that area is a launching area for many hikes in the National Park. So the convenience is exceptional. Had one of the best sleeps of our trip so far as well!

Perfect experience.
We only stayed at Pension Bergbach for 1 night, and I loved it so much I asked about extending our stay. The hostess was so friendly and sweet. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. Everything was fresh and displayed beautifully. They have a little fridge for drinks after hours and coffee and tea 24-7. The room had an absolutely stunning view of the mountains and it was so nice to relax on the porch. The room was clean and comfortable. We were excited to stay in one of the classic style Alpine buildings. The roof was sloped and the stairs were beautiful and old, but with fresh light paint. The only thing we were worried about was the hot weather since there is no air conditioning, but we left the windows and door open to air out the room while we relaxed on the porch and the room was comfortable all night. The hotel was very quiet. We didn’t hear anyone in the room, but we saw other guests at breakfast. In the morning we spent about an hour hiking up to the falls and back. It was beautiful (there is a 4 euro token required per person up in the state park). There are 2 restaurants that we saw within walking distance. There are banks and shops within 5-10 minute drive.

We wanted too spend a couple of nights to see Lake Konigsee but the real highlight was the Waterfalls just 700 metres from this hotel, An unmissable experience
