We had a splendid stay here. Two Alaskans traveling in Germany. The hotel and in fact the whole town is not geared for American tourists. But that's okay, everyone we met was friendly and helpful and tolerated are very limited German. We ate several outstanding meals at the gasthaus attached to the hotel. Much of the food is locally sourced including the pork and beef. It was all top quality, very well prepared very well presented. If you get the chance to spend some time in this off the beaten path town in the Spreewald, you can't go wrong staying at the Spreewaldeck.
Friendly staff and loved the platters
Nice cafe.
No nice staff (no word of English) and no courtains in the hotel room so u are awake at 4:30 in the summer. The doors are from paper so u hear the cleaning-staff from A to Z. No airco in the rooms also so u melt away even at night.
They didn't let us to go in their empty restaurant despite the puring rain with the excuse that we don't eat, even though it was too early for dinner. I guess they never heard about hospitality.
