1. During check in, no one offered to help with our luggage despite 3 staff standing next to the door
2. When we finally got into our room, our shampoo was totally empty
3. Operator almost non existence. Called multiple times but the line was always engaged! Only managed to get through ONCE
4. Utensils in the room were not washed. We consume meals in our room and have requested utensils on day 1. The used utensils were there until the last day
5. As mentioned by many other travellers, the thermostat doesn’t work
6. Complimentary ONE bottle of water for the entire stay (please take note)
7. Last and not the least - because we are Asians, so counter staff just keyed into the system with some random Shanghai address despite presenting with our passport during check in. Invoice reflects so.
So other than location, everything else is disappointing. We might just drop Marriott from our stays in the future
The location is super convenient, within walking distance to landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, Sony Center, and Potsdamer Platz. Right in front of the hotel, there's also a section of the Berlin Wall and the ruins of Hotel Esplanade, which survived the war.
From my floor, I had easy access to the gym, sauna, and pool.
The sauna is a dry sauna, and the pool is quite nice.
