Hotel Krone Aachen City - Eurogress in Aachen

The photos are completely misleading. In real life, this place is much, much worse than what’s shown online. From the moment I arrived, I honestly felt unsafe the entire time. The room seemed dirty, and the whole property looked rundown and neglected. Everything felt “dodgy,” and nothing matched the expectations created by the listing photos. To be fair, it is quite cheap — but that still doesn’t excuse the condition. I’m honestly not sure how this place is even allowed to still be open.

Bedbugs!! And when I discovered them, the reception was closed (10 p.m.) and did not open again until 12:10 p.m. So I slept on the floor, and then I had breakfast at a local bakery while waiting for asking for a complete refund. Which I got. I should have returned to the reception and checked out as soon as I felt the intense smell in the stairways, or at least when I spotted the plastic bag with empty (?) pizza boxes outside the next room.

The room was very hot. Could hardly sleep.

I booked a stay at this hotel through *******, but was unable to sleep due to extremely poor conditions. The entire building was under construction and had an overwhelming odor. The room lacked basic amenities such as cups or glasses, a safety box, shampoo, soap, even a shower head, and even lighting—believe it or not, I had to rely on the bathroom light to illuminate the room. The bed was extremely unstable—just a single cough caused it to bounce so much that I nearly fell off.

The toilet flush wasn’t working properly, there was no phone in the room to call for assistance, the closet was broken, and the staircase leading to the rooms was not only damaged but smelled terrible.

To make matters worse, there was no reception service after 11 PM. I checked in around 10 PM, and upon seeing the condition of the room, I went to find help, only to discover the front desk was already closed. I had to leave the hotel just to buy water and disposable cups. By the time I returned, the main entrance was locked, and I was forced to enter through the back.

This stay was extremely disappointing and far below even the most basic hospitality standards. I kindly request a full-night stay compensation for the time wasted and the distress I experienced.

soft bed on soft base - I will need 10 hours of physio to fix the damage. hotter than hell and can't open the window because the room is so small the curtains prevent you from opening it bathroom so small and shower even smaller that you need to lather up before you get in the shower. no food or drink service. no breakfast. nothing. no coffee.. absolutely nothing. bottle of water in the room but so hot because of the room temperature that it's undrinkable. but not quite hot enough to make tea no kettle in the room no bar fridge micro-stool at desk - impossible to work. room not serviced. bed unmade. checked in at 2pm but room not ready. needed to pull mattress onto the floor to attempt sleep. if you're considering coming to Germany to stay in this travesty then rather keep your money and go on holiday nearer to home. an absolute disaster of a place. also lift doesn't work at the best of times. stay away... you'd get more pleasure from taking the cash you'd spend and burning it to stay warm while you slept on the street.
