Hotel 83 in Bonn

Excellent location with good access to public transport. The hotel doesnt give great first impressions from the street, but the rooms are really, really good, so is the service. If you arrive late you will have to pick up the key at the Japanese restaurant next door that is operated by the same people that run the hotel. I did not try the breakfast, if you plan do, the hotel wants to know at what time you want your breakfast the day before. I would stay again for sure.

Overall good

The room was incredibly clean and the staff was so kind and helpful. They were able to check us in way earlier than our checkin time. They communicated well and emailed us before our stay. They even let us keep our bags with them AFTER checkout so we can walk around, grab food before our flight. I would definitely come back. I'm glad I chose them for our stay.

Friendly reception from owner and spotless rooms
Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The hotel owner made us feel comfortable and even provided umbrellas when she saw us heading out in a rainy day. Room was minimal but provided everything you need for a comfortable and warm stay. Definitely one of the cleanest places we have stayed in while traveling in Europe. Across the street from a train stop and walking distance to the center of Bonn.

Initially it Was a bit difficult to find the Apple Maps location brings you to the other side of the road and the signage for the hotel is tiny.
The outside of the building doesn’t appear like a usual hotel but once inside it’s great, the parking is open to the public and outdoor if you’re precious about your car as my husband is! But there were no issues.

The room was clean and had a modern style. The location was very convenient with direct access to the transportation and also you can easily walk to the city center. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Unusual but nice hotel
The hotel itself is a little strange, but incredibly clean, nice modern design, and the room and bathroom were spacious. There's a very tiny elevator that takes you up to the reception on the first floor, and there are about 4 rooms on each of 3 or 4 floors. The staff are extremely attentive, and appear as the elevator door opens to help with the luggage since two people and two small roller cases will not fit into the elevator. Really the only reason I took off a star is that the hotel is well-situated on the edge of the town center and near Altstadt, but it is around the corner from a busy street on a dark, desolate side street. It's a bare whitish building with barely a sign indicating the door to the hotel. There was an abandoned shopping cart near the door, and the hotel across the street has graffiti on the walls. Once you enter it's a different world, as I said, of clean spare design that is extremely nice and comfortable.
