ibis Hotel Köln Messe in Koln

Hotel is located at other side of Rihn river, opposite to Cathedral and train station but is less than 20 minutes passing close to Kolm view building. It is a nice walk, crossing Koln know steel bolted bridge watching Cathedral and train station. Hotel is nice and complete for its range and price. It has a nice and safe sub-parking. There is a Budge Ibis Hotel close to this Ibis.

Small room but enough for a couple and a child. Little hangers but space for luggage under the bed. Good location with trams (3 and 4) to city within 10 minutes walk.

Decent hotel, stayed here during busy days and service was friendly and kind, hotel and room is what you could expect for the price and is fine for sure 😊 would come for another stay again

General Impression
The location right next to koelnmesse entrance east is great.
The staff was friendly.
While not 100% quiet, you did not hear other guests too much.

Cleanliness
Could have been better. There was shower gel residue on the shower walls, and I managed to catch a massive amount of dust with one of my shirts somehow - I believe from under the bathroom mirror, as I laid it on the sink.

Room Amenities
The room had no power outlets at the bed which feels like a no-go in this day and age. Bring your own extension cord or extra long charger cable.
No mini-fridge in the room.
On the upside, a nicely sized desk and an efficient cupboard with hangers as well as ample space for folded clothes.

Breakfast
It is great that there are allergen lists hanging out in the buffet area, but it would be even greater if then all food would also be labeled so you actually know what is what.
I also had to ask for margarine several days instead of having it be provided as staple, which is a bit wild to me and mildly annoying as looking, asking and waiting for this took some minutes out of my limited breakfast time on several days.
On the upside, it was nice that breakfast selection varied a little from day to day.
I also loved the huge selections of milk alternatives, freshly cut fruit and salads!

This Ibis maintains the style and certain accommodation quality of the chain business hotels.
1. The location is very close to the exhibition hall, but because we stayed there for 4 consecutive nights and walked to and from the city center of Cologne Cathedral every day, we later felt that it was a bit far from the areas where tourists often go shopping and sightseeing. Friends who come here for "pure tourism" are recommended to give priority to Ibis near Cologne Cathedral.
2. There is no bottled water, kettle, coffee bags, etc. provided in the room, but the front desk said that the water from the bathroom tap is drinkable.
3. There is a restaurant on the first floor. The food is delicious but you have to pay to eat.
4. There is no fixed cleaning time in the morning or afternoon, which sometimes affects our travel schedule.
