I stayed here whilst touring Cologne. It was a good stay. The hotel is located on the ring and is some 20 minutes walk to the cathedral/station/centre. I had a comfortable and good sized room. No air conditioning. Normally not an issue but the temperatures were up to 36 during my stay. Otherwise quiet and comfortable. Real hangers. A bath. A safe. No kettle. No fridge. Not enough sockets. Good wi-fi. Good breakfast.

The hotel is in a residential neighborhhod, with pleasant cafes and shops. It is clean, and nicely furnished, with friendly staff, and a good breakfast. The breakfast also offers a good selection of tea, including black teas, as well as coffee. Also, some rooms offer smoking. It is near the U bahn, too. My only caveats are that the bathroom is quite small, with a tub that is high to step into, and that guests are asked not to wash any clothing in their rooms, but to use the hotel's services.

The restaurant is really cozy, the food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive! We all enjoyed our meals very much, and the food was beautifully presented. Great location near Mediapark / Eigelstein / Hansaring.

This is a nice hotel to stay for a night or two. Really nice reception team. Very welcoming and make your stay easy. The hotel is a blast from the past and reminded me of simpler times in the 80s so I loved the decor. The room size is very comfortable. We booked a double bed but got two singles. Seems to be a thing in Europe. But you can push the beds together anyways. Or leave them separate and get a really great nights sleep. 😂 The hotel is conveniently located 200 m from the S1,2,6,9. In fact any train on that line will take you into the city centre as it’s only one stop away. Great short walk to the inner city and the beautiful Rhine river. The Satelite TV in the room has issues with reception. In a room I would expect a small fridge and coffee making facilities and an iron for my money. I see through trip advisor booking contacts that the price varies greatly. Don’t paid more than $130 euro per night as you will be disappointed with the value for money. Even that price is a bit high. But really nice trip back in time.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for two weeks and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished, and extremely comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a long day. The bathroom was equally impressive—modern, clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The spread was extensive, with a wide variety of delicious options to suit every palate. From fresh fruits to warm pastries, and hearty hot dishes, everything was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. A special mention goes to Nina, who was at the breakfast each morning. Her warm and friendly demeanor, combined with her hard-working nature, truly made the experience memorable. She went out of her way to ensure that guests were well taken care of, adding a personal touch that made breakfast feel even more special. Nina’s dedication and charm were the icing on the cake of an already wonderful stay. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

As an avid barefooter, I was kindly sent away from breakfast to put on shoes. Looking at the carpet in my room, I understand why. Friendly staff. Very small elevator. Breakfast is okay. Coffee could be better.

The rooms are clean and spacious. There's plenty of room to store your clothes. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are rather rustic; anyone looking for a design hotel should choose a different one. I'm actually considering coming back when I'm in town again. On the downside, the small pillows could definitely be replaced with larger ones.

I stayed at the Coellner Hof on business during a trade fair. The room was very clean and surprisingly quiet. The location is perfect, with cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms are furnished in a somewhat "old-school" style, but are spacious and have everything you need! The underground parking garage is right across the street. It's good value for money; I can recommend it.

The hotel has an great location a few minutes walk from the station on the train to / from the airport. It is a 10 - 15 minute walk to the River rhine and attractions such as the Cathedral. There was good communications from the hotel before I arrived and when I did I arrive early I was able to get into my room straight away. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly throughout the course of my stay. There was an excellent tasty breakfast with lots of things to choose from at an extra cost (12 euros) which I found well worth the cost.

The good I stayed here with my mother. The hotel room was spacious with a couch at the end of the bed. Breakfast was great, so much variety and lots of tasty and healthy options. The decor is quite traditional but this added to the quaintness for us. The location is great. The bad We wanted to stay an extra night and it was impossible to book the extra night online. We tried several times to reach the hotel by phone to no avail. We also sent e-mails to which they never replied. A day or so before arriving, we finally got through. We spoke with a young lady who said we could extend our stay but never sent e-mail confirmation, which she said she would. We had to call yet again to make sure we got the email confirmation for our second night. It seems that it shouldn't be that hard to make a reservation. The worst Upon check-out, we had a bad experience with Daniele, one of the hotel receptionists. First, she tried to charge us 277 euros for our second night when the price indicated in the confirmation email (thank God I insisted to get that confirmation e-mail!) was 203 euros. So we pointed that out to her and she kindly changed the price. Honest mistake, fair enough. But when the time came to pay for the first night, the invoice I'd received by email said 195 euros but I was charged 203. I asked why one night was 195 and the other was 203 Daniele explained this was because of the city tax. OK, no problem However, I wanted to understand why the city tax was included in one invoice (203) and not included in the other (195). You'll understand that I was skeptical of Daniele's calculation capacities given she had first tried to charge us 277 euros for a room that was meant to be 203. I live in Amsterdam and have been to Cologne more times than I can count. I know there is a tourism and culture tax. I simply wanted to understand why one of my invoices included the city tax and why the other didn't. I wanted to know what I was paying for. Instead of taking the time to kindly explain, Daniele shoved the card machine at me and told me she had other things to do. I was told I should research a place before travelling there. She got increasingly impatient with my inability to understand. I know I must have been annoying for her but Daniele's way of dealing with me was so rude. When I calmly took a moment to step away to read the fine print before tapping my card to the machine she was shoving in my face, I overhead her saying Scheiße. You can guess what that translates to. All of this went on in German, which I can understand some of but do not speak. My mother does speak German so she acted as the intermediary. It was frankly quite shocking to have a hotel receptionist speaking so harshly and rudely in front of my 65-year old mother. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place as a first option due to the poor customer service, but it does have its positive aspects as outlined above. Your call!
