Athens, 16 Thiras St. (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Very clean and comfortable bed. But the shower didn’t work well and had to hold in hand instead of hanging on wall. Smelling not good also inside the bathroom.
Riions are clean and staff is helpful and responsive. Our taxi driver told us this is not a safe neighborhood after dark.
A comfortable room in a residential part of Athens
Complementary breakfast was not provided. The room was always spotless, clean and fresh. Although this is in a local, residential neighborhood that may seem gritty initially, it is actually a thriving, pulsating area of the city with plenty of clothing, cafe, supermarket and dining options. The staff at the hotel were all lovely and pleasant.
THE CLEANLINESS OF THE BATHROOM AND AND THE OVERALL COMFORTNESS OF THE BED AND ROOM . THE FRIENDLINESS OF THE FRONT STAFF AND MAID. THE CLOSENESS OF THE LOCATION TO RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING .
The staff was very friendly. There was no breakfast, but it is two short blocks away from the upscale Kipselis restaurant area. I always walked the km from the metro station, but there is also a bus stop a block away. Not a noisy area.
Around the Hotel are many shops, restaurants and supermarkets. It's across a policestation and seems quite safe. Theres someone at the reception 24/7 which was amazing for us, as we had to check out around 4AM due to our early flight.
The people working there were all very nice and helpful!
Sadly our hair dryer in the room didn't work, there were strangers hair beneath the sheets, and I think a bit...

Heads up (and I will be polite): it's considered by locals as a hotel for "extracurricular activities". The room had a cigarette smell and the beds are very basic, but the staff was super helpful. If you are looking for a very simple, no frills place to stay, this is ok.
Very kind reception people and convenient to any place. I come late at 2.30 AM, reception desk always open.
I stayed here for two nights and i was scared i wouldn’t be able to explore athens freely but i was wrong ! The hotel was five minutes walking away from the metro , telescope cafe was 20 minutes away walking (HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING). The reception people are very nice and welcoming. They were extremely sweet and kind to me The rooms are okay.
A very decent place preserved to the detail from 1980. The staff is very friendly, reception is open all around the clock, there is a private parking lot, and rooms are very clean. Also, there is a Metro station nearby. Great value for money!
Clean, basic room but everything I needed, with a great location for walking my course. Lots of places to eat near by and great connection to the airport via metro
The location is perfect, near to Metro and street of many restaurants. The neighborhood is peaceful and you can walk. Having own parking is a big advantage for this place. It is a perfect place, if you travel by car. The service is perfect.

Nice and helpful staff, clean room with confort beds. Nice view from balcony.
Kind of old furniture, but functional.
Maybe more towels for 3 guests would be nice (we got 2 face + 1 bath towels).
You can add buffet breakfast to your room, simple but enough, located at the rooftop with nice view.
The hotel is located very close to the metro and the train station, and it is very convenient to get to and from the airport, and to the city center. Very good value for money.
A excellent small hotel at an excellent price that’s small and friendly that was ideal for my break in Athens for Christmas. I was given room 103 that was massive, relaxing, very comfy and found the male receptionist very friendly and loved to engage in conversation with his excellent English language. Room was massive and comfortable and breakfast was served even on Christmas Day and Boxing Day...
Christmas break that was restful
I usually stay by the Acropolis in Athens but wanted a peaceful, quiet Christmas stay and was given room 103 as was upgraded free in the true spirit of Christmas .
The male receptionist is extremely friendly and his English language is excellent.
I was given a large comfortable room to relax inside and breakfast was even served on Christmas and Boxing Day, the boiled...
I wondered why there was no TV remote control, but then I realized it was because the TV wouldn't show anything.
I stayed here for 7 days with 2 others. Room is a bit small but clean. Bathroom is good. The connection with public transport is excellent, larissa station is 2 min. from the hotel. The people of the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. Price of the room was 55 euro p/d, which is fine. Good hotel to stay for the night, especially if you do sightseeing during the day.

Great hotel and excellent staff. Triple room is enormous and perfect for two people or even three. I recommend this hotel to any travelers.
I had to quickly find a hotel in Piraeus on Saturday night, coming over form Naxos, as my husband had been taken to a nearby hospital. The ladies on Reception were SO nice and helpful with perfect English. I am so grateful to them. I won't be the only person to find themselves in this situation - many hospitals close by! The hotel is very clean, the bed was comfy, and the rooms have good bathrooms...
I stayed for more than two weeks, i experienced a great hospitality with a friendly stuff.
Clean rooms with nice temperature and hot water , excellent service and food/ drinks .
Reception was helpful and willing to assist at any time for anything. I'm grateful for this experience and I left with the sense of leaving a family place behind. Thank you!
Highly recommended hotel. I am very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The staff is very attentive and helpful, the room is spotless, and it is just a few steps from the port and convenience stores. The restaurant offers delicious breakfasts with first class service.
Affordable, clean, and close to cruise ship port which is what I needed. The room was smaller than one would expect in the USA but it is not the USA and it was cozy and had everything I needed. Nice authentic Greek restaurant on the corner with indoor and out door dining and when I was there some music as well. Great little hotel especially for the price
This is an adequate place to stay and very convenient if you have an early ferry to catch. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. However, our room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that it actually woke me up a few times. Overall ok for the price.

After reading the other reviews, I was a bit worried about my stay.
But, as I just needed a good sleep after a long ferry ride, and an early morning flight, this place was fine. It was an ideal location for catching the metro to the airport and for arriving late from the ferry.

We stayed at Ion Hotel for one night before our cruise and it was a great choice. The location is very convenient — just a 10-minute walk from the metro with a direct connection from the airport. Was looking for a cheap but decent room for 4 to crash for one night before travelling on the morning after. Very satisfied in this regard.
Room was serviceable and clean, and the hotel is very conveniently located. Can't ask for more for the price, which was in hostel range. Great value.
Very helpful hosts. Close to port of Piraeus
Honestly this little hotel saved our butts on a last-minute one night stay with helpful staff, a clean room, and even a tiny balcony. Great value. You can even get late night souvlaki delivered.
Lovely people around, the costumer service is top notch, the staffs are nice and always ready to help.
The room was lovely and neatly arranged.

We have stayed in many 3 star hotels in Athens and this was definetly the most cleanest and with excellent reception staff & manager! The dangerous Omonia square is very exaggerated. Its true that there is a lot of immigrants, but we didnt feel scared. If you have traveled in any big citys as London, New York, etc... its no different. The breakfast is a basic breakfast basket, not a buffee, but you...
I was really very impressed and satisfied with the three nights I spent at the Hotel Vienna, whilst visiting Athens at the end of August 2022… It’s centrally located (close to Acropolis, Sindagma, Monisteraki, Plaka et al) just off Omonia Square and the main Metro Line… My standard double room was specious and extremely clean with comfortable bedding and aircon. The management and staff - especially...
My partner and I stayed at the Vienna for 10 nights. I can't remember ever staying at a hotel with such nice, courteous, helpful and genuinely friendly staff! It was a genuine pleasure dealing with them, even if it was just to pick up the key when returning to the hotel at the end of the day. Whenever we needed something (print out something, book a taxi, ask for a plaster, even ask for the name of...
Really good considering the price I paid for this room, including breakfast. The staff really stood out, being very attentive and you can tell they are constantly thinking about what the customer wants. They did so when I checked-in, by offering different room options. Room didn’t match the pictures online, bathroom had mould on the roof and was generally average. Mattress dipped in the middle. The reception didn’t let us keep our key which we googled and saw is normal in Europe but after 22 European countries I have never experienced it. Area around the hotel is a bit dodgy but that’s not their fault
Good service and location.. Value for money

The counter service is in place, the location is convenient, and it is close to the subway station! !
The staff are amazing, the cleaner will eventually ignore the do not disturb sign, be careful where you step in the near vicinity of the hotel, drug users about. If you want local food for breakfast head left out of the hotel then left again, a little ways up is a great cafe.
The property was fine. As described and expected given how cheap it is! Good value. However I booked a double bed and got twin beds which was a shame. Otherwise a great stay

Nice hotel located at a desirable seafront location in Piraeus. The jacuzzi was clutch and the room was spacious and clean. Only drawback is the noise from vehicles on the busy street below
I spend 4 night in Scorpios hotel in 2017. I really enjoyed the view , Sunset and sun rise relaxing voice of Saronic Gulf when Waked up in morning, with nice restaurant and café and bar very closed by beautiful view really, no need to mention lovely people of Greece. hope to see you all again.
We booked room in "last minute" so we didnt have the sea view ones, yet the room is cosy, clean and overall good. It has everything you expect. The only downside is sound isolation where you hear everything from hall (nothing from other rooms though). Service is realy pleasant, nearby are bars, retaurants, shops and bus stop.
This hotel was beyond everything we could have asked for! It was the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at in Athens! Close to the Port, the night life is beautiful! The rooms are clean and stunning ! We wanted to stay longer ! The staff are INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. I give them a 10/10. I can highly recommend this hotel make sure to get a sea facing room, you won't be sorry !
Enjoyed the sea view, where you can see the sunrise and the sunset. Accomodations are very clean. Slept well each night. Breakfast offering is generous and very delicious! All of the staff were very helpful and professional.

I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest private room option I could find in Athens. As a Japanese person, I was quite surprised that the elevator here didn't have doors. It's not exceptionally clean, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep, it gets the job done.
Although the hotel itself is noticeably old, it has all the basic necessities and was a comfortable stay. It's especially conveniently located just a one-minute walk from Omonia Station on the subway, so sightseeing and shopping are easy. As long as you don't expect excessive quality from a hotel, I think it's a good value for money stay.
Conveniently located, very basic accommodation. AC wasn’t working, but it served the purpose of having a bed to rest on for 6 hours. Wouldn’t recommend if travelling with kids
The room is very good and there are many delicious restaurants around. The price is very affordable in Europe. The bathroom is also very clean. It is very convenient to go to the Acropolis. Well, it's not bad.
It was hard to figure out how to open the door. The building was older than I expected, so be careful.
It is a few minutes away from the subway station, and after a few stops you can visit the ruins. There is a restaurant and a supermarket where you can eat Greek food right in front of the hotel. Hotel facilities are rather poor. Recommended for those who want to save on lodging costs just by sleeping at night

Rooms upgraded since I was last here. Small but good. Beds/bedding excellent. Staff friendly and very helpful.
I really wanted to love this hotel. It's definitely a 2 star hotel, and honestly they're trying to do the best they can with what they have.
Pros
- good location for price. I needed one night before a sailing trip and this was a good compromise between my departure point and the sights of Athens.
- generous check in/out times. Both check in and check out is midday. And my room was ready when I arrived...
The environment is not bad, but it is located next to the main road and is very noisy. People often hear racing cars. The air conditioner in the room cannot be adjusted by itself. Friendly staff.
This is a 2 star hotel so you are getting what you pay for. It is clean and has all needed facilities, you have an empty mini fridge you can put your things in, a kettle, a TV and AC. There is housekeeping every morning. You also have breakfast every morning which I was not expecting for a 2* hotel, the options are plenty. The reception is 24/7 so you can reach them any time you need. My only complaint...
Nice hotel, pretty comfortable if you just want a place to shower and sleep. Bed sheets smelled heavenly. Breakfast is not included, but with 5€, they provide it. I think it's a fair deal. Big and comfy balcony. When I arrived, there was no one at the reception and had to rang the bell. 24 hour front desk. Very quiet, a little noisey in mornings like any hotel. Very close to metro on red line. If coming from airport buy airport ticket plus the city metro (24 hours, 3 days). Change at syntagma.
The location of the hotel is right next to a huge homeless population. However, it is a 15 minute walking distance from popular restaurants and squares. As for the room, it’s not the nicest room, so it fits the price of what you pay for. The sink and shower didn’t drain. But the bed was pretty comfy and had AC which was a huge advantage. overall the hotel is nice and safe.
nice neighbourhood , walkable to grocery stores and many restaurants near by
however ,interior need some update .
The hotel is close to the Bay, to all kind of transportation, shopping, restaurants and to the port
Very warm welcome, helpful information about transport options due to strike. Breakfast was fine good options. Room provided as requested, clean comfortable, the area was quiet in spite of being near the port.
