Where to stay with kids in Maleme

We came as a family of 4 with a 4 year old and 3 month old. The hotel is decent for a family break. Pools and slides very good for the kids and for an all inclusive the food wasn’t too bad although repetitive

As other reviews state, snack bar serving pizza/gyros/burgers which is decent. Drinks mainly all self serve, typical for an all inclusive, local brands but ok

Enjoyed the entertainment with Greek night hosted at the Pool Bar and animation team star providing an impromptu concert after the salsa dancing. Nice location on the beach and easy trip from Chania Airport

We arrived at reception for the room to be told we’d have to wait for another 3 family’s to use it first. Not great with young children when you’ve been promised you wouldn’t have to wait

All in all it was a good family holiday but this incident did ruin our opinion of the hotel at the end. PS ignore people moaning about the beach, it’s lovely and quiet just get some beach shoes to avoid the rocks!!

All staff on all levels are very polite and professional. Special Big Thank you to Kids club, The lady who look after children very intelligent and responsible you can feel you leave your child in safe place

A very friendly and personalized welcome, impeccable and smiling service everywhere, superb infrastructure, a wonderful swimming pool, the cuisine is very good and made with fresh and quality products, the cocktails are excellent, the room (upgraded) was very comfortable

Very large and beautiful pool! The staff is very friendly! A little something for my daughter's 3rd birthday! The all-inclusive is very good! With the added bonus of à la carte dinners 👌 I highly recommend this hotel! We stayed 6 nights

The restaurant was open at almost any time and there were basically no restrictions. The kids loved the water slide. Although it was not big, there were not many people and they could enjoy it

Unfortunately, the temperature was relatively low in early May and there was a strong wind. Although the outdoor swimming pool was beautiful, it was not very swimmable

Really nice hotel with plenty of good facilities and a great layout. The pool is enormous and well lit so it really stands out at night and the private beach is a lovely touch. The food does let it down though

This has to be the two most relaxing weeks we have had. As mentioned we had a room with private pool so we did not use the shared pool area at the hotel, but we did notice that it is not that big

All the sunbeds by the main pool was taken our three last days so we are wondering if there is enough beds in july and august(?) Don’t know how full the hotel was when we stayed there, but we know that it’s 104 rooms here so it might work out well

Every night when we ate dinner in the all inclusive restaurant we could see while sitting outside that there was staff cleaning the sunbeds and tables by the pool, it always looked good and clean in the moring when we went for breakfast

Also the kids pool is located a bit by itself and it’s an okay amount of sunbeds there. We only used our private pool but the shared pool area at the hotel looked clean and nice

Sometimes it could fill up with a lot of small insects in our private pool, but as soon as we told the staff in the reseption they fixed it within and our

Some days it was good! for example when it seemed like there was a theme like mexican (taco, burrito and so on) and greek night (gyros, both self made and ready-made) but some days we did not find that much that tempted

Difficult to find better hotel and service on this beautiful island Crete ? Fits families or couples or singles, young, youngster, children and grandparents

Still currently here, the manager Stavros is a great guy along with all his staff. Even being from Scotland we are treated no different no matter what other reviews say. We will be booking for next year also

Best staff ever. Swimming pools and gardens really well kept. The cleaning staff did a great job. The all inclusive buffet had always new and fresh dishes. We wish we could stay longer!!!

- Night Shows: Some nights feature entertainment, and the karaoke night was definitely our favorite! Cons: - Neighboring Hotel: The only drawback was the noisy neighboring hotel, which could be a bit distracting at times

The stuff team is very friendly leaving all the customers pleased. The food is very tasty and has a very big variety of choises leaving all the customers satisfied and happy

As someone with mobility problems, I valued the accessibility of the hotel and its grounds, even down to a path onto the beach, so that I was able to sit out on the sun loungers there

My daughter and I have just spent a week at the Asterion. We thought that the facilities and the food were excellent, although it is the staff who make this a fantastic place to stay

A great place to relax for young and older couples without children, as it is an adults-only hotel

We both enjoyed our walks along the sea-front, took a taxi into Chania Old Town and went for a trip on a mini-train which had an accessible carriage! It means so much to be able to still enjoy a holiday like this, so thank you to everyone at the Asterion, especially to the kind gentleman who mended the back of my scooter with his Allen key!

There are several great restaurants nearby, a promenade suitable for jogging. The city of Chania and the beautiful beaches of western Crete are very accessible and close. The entire hotel team is professional and great

Excellent place - good value for money. We had a great balcony overclooking the swimming pool, the apartament was comfortable and cosy. The swimming pool was perfect - clean, warm and deep (2.7m) We love it!

There were 3 bins in the room, which made it a lot easier to keep the room tidy. The bins were taken out everyday and beds were also made everyday. The kitchenette has most utensils and cooking equipment

The pool was also of a decent size and very clean. There were a few inflatables and balls around the pool. There was a notice saying the rooms were sterilised by UV light

Spaces in the car park appear to have been marked at different times, as some of the spaces block other cars in, which I'd witnessed, and on 1 of the nights I watched 2 cars drop people off and then leave because there weren't any spaces left

But at the beach front there are plenty of spaces, and that is a very short walk away from the back entrance of the hotel. It was very close to a shingle beach and a stretch of hotels and shops, and the tourist train

Fridge also had a freezer shelf. There was a dining table and chairs, a dressing table, a sofa bed to sleep 1 person, a double bed and on the balcony there was a small table and chairs. Balcony was of a decent size

I stayed there for 5 days with group of my friends. Rooms were clear and the equipment was everything we needed. Swimming pool and cocktails in bar were amazing too. Owners and staffs were very pleasant and nice to guest

Same playlist in the poolbar running over and over, including a Christmas song for the first 24 hours

The hotel facilities are very good, pleasant restaurant, nice pool area. The fitness room though - a tragedy

And the way he conducted this with his own people was very simply embarrassing to look at. I would not want to work for him myself but maybe Greece is a little outdated when it comes to people management, I don't know

All the five stars are dedicated to the staff! Reception, restaurant staff and cleaning were all so great. They were all very kind and interactive with my little 1-year old daughter Luna, so we appreciated this a lot

I'm sure the management would want to have 'fitness' checked out amongst the facilities but to call those facilities a gym would be a strong overstatement. They have six 5-kg weights and two machines out of order

It's a great hotel with great and helpful staff, always smiling and with good energy, our family been more then happy for our stay here, I'm sure we will come back again 😀 😊 definitely a place to visit, you have beach 30 meters from the hotel too

Two pools, fitness center what's not to like 😎🌞 great buffet with loads of new dishes each day. They also went in a extra bit and celebrated me and my wife's birtday with cake and drinks 🍸 😄

Entertainment 3 times a week which was nice. 2 swimming pools though would recommend the one with the children's pool as it does catch the sun well from around 12pm

The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, but well maintained and reasonably priced. The sea view/pool view room was quiet and had a very nice view from the balcony, especially in the evenings

The family and staff is very friendly and always helpful, they let us keep one of our rooms on checkout day free of charge so we could leave our luggage there and use the pool all day

I would recommend the Albatros as a base for exploring the island and the beaches, for hanging out at the pool in the afternoons/evenings and the occasional snack in the restaurant

We spent 11 nights with a family of 7 at the Albatros, a family run, medium sized hotel in the center of Maleme, only a short walk to the beach front

We often had snacks or salads here while hanging at the pool and a few dinners, but also went out quite often. The breakfast is nothing special

If you want a quiet room, ask for sea view. The pool is large, well maintained and well equipped with beds and umbrellas

In my opinion the 2 star rating should be 4 star. All food is fresh cooked and excellent with average prices. Good swimming pool right next to beach. Very frequent bus nearby to Chania

Everything was perfect! What a lovely family, they were so welcoming and friendly! It was a two floor apartment studios. We got the first floor view to the beach

Delicious 😋 have many offerings! We had a Moussaka there and it was well cooked, also mango juice 🥤 was great. It has a private clean beach ⛱️ Sunbeds are enough for everyone, cool atmosphere

It's a great spot for a family. They got a pool as well, deep and shallow. We checked out earlier in the morning, and they gave us breakfast to eat later 🩵 They cleaned the room every other day

The beach is annoyingly close to the rooms and the restaurant and the pool is too clean and perfect. All the staff is very kind and careful. The location is too perfect to be true

What an absolute bargain of a place! Staff warm and friendly, rooms clean and spacious, great location, nice reasonably priced bar, free breakfast and free sun loungers on the beach

Some hotels etc had set up direction signs, but we didn't spot one for GT Beach. We might even have driven straight past if I hadn't see a pool & buildings which looked just like the website's picture

Only bad point is that housekeeping is equal to nothing, they don t clean daily and change bedsheets after only 3 days. The pool is nice but closes at 08. Easy parking in front of hotel

The only problem we had with the hotel for the first night of our recent trip to Crete was finding it on one of the three roads in Maleme running parallel to the shore

The breakfast is relatively poor and the flavors are indifferent. Bread is probably yesterday's. We only stayed one night for this and we did not say anything at the reception. We definitely will not recommend it!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. The family that runs the hotel was very welcoming and sweet, and the service was also a highlight, which made us feel comfortable from the start

The pools and the surrounding area were fine, though not the biggest ones. There is also a very small fitness area—we didn’t even notice it at first

The highlight was definitely the bar, where the boys were serving excellent drinks, especially the mojito. Overall, it was a quiet place with not many guests, which made for a relaxing stay

The location was convenient for us since we had a car to get around. The rooms were on the smaller side, but they were cozy, and everything worked as it should, so we had no problems there

The hotel is run by a family, the mother (the boss!) looking after things with her two sons on bar duties. They are all lovely people and went out of their way to look after us and did not disappoint

Nothing like the resorts we've done on the past which is great, had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time and you're literally 5 mins walk of that from the beach. Clean, safe and recommended

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service for that booking price rate. Definitely we're recommending and aim next season trip to the Castro Beach Hotel

Everything was perfect ! From the bar to the buffet, including cleaning service and reception. The staff is smiling and pleasant no matter the time or location of the hotel. I honestly have nothing to complain about.

There is real reception and he waits for his arriving guests even till 4 am, because the plane was late. Hotel is very clean, and well taking care off. The beach is very close to this hotel- like 3 min walking distance

The food and the cocktails at the restaurant and pool bar were amazing and the staff George and Nick are incredible hosts with great chat. Futura felt like a home for us and the guys like family

We had the best time here on a working holiday, for 2 weeks. It’s 5 min walk from the beach and Platanias and Chania are easy to get to with a frequent bus. Chilling by the pool was our favourite pastime when not working

Lots of steps around premises you need to be fit. A bit to far away from the restaurants and the stoney beach for us. Thanks to George and Nick plus family for a pleasant stay

Beautiful gardens, pool and bar area set in a nice location near a good bus route to other popular attractions. Downside is that the food and drink menu is expensive and so is the shop which is situated on the premises

We used a little supermarket further along the road which was much cheaper. There were also many extra costs which added a fair expense to the holiday such as paying for the wi-fi, air con and towels for the pool

I just had four days holidays here and I appreciate the service of family , they are always willing to help and give us good advices to plan the trip, and the house is just so well-organised

Two couples sharing the great Tikita apartment quite comfortably we enjoyed everything the nice friendly and accommodating host offered. Just don't tell them we sneaked a very tasty pomegranate from the tree
