The hotel is exceptional. It is spacious, relaxing and spotlessly clean. The food is delicious - in particular the breakfasts are outstanding. The hot food is cooked in small batches as required so the fried eggs, fried tomatoes etc are all hot and freshly cooked. The live entertainment at dinner was excellent. Service is exceptional from all staff members. The General Manager, George, and the restaurant manager, Manolis, are gifted at ensuring each guest feels personally welcomed in the hotel. Although the hotel is fairly large, you really do receive a small, family-run hotel welcome. We stayed in a room with a private pool and were delighted with how sizeable both suite and pool were. It was very pleasant and relaxing. The hotel really exudes the Greek ethos of hospitality, generosity and warmth of welcome to guests. We can’t recommend the hotel highly enough.

I can't quite believe how many 5 star reviews this place gets, bearing in mind the lack of facilities. This was an expensive holiday, so I think it fair to have expected more, especially as this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Yes, most of the staff are really lovely, helpful and attentive, but there simply isn't the infrastructure to merit 5 stars. There is just one (very cold) pool, no indoor pool, and only a tiny "gym" in a windowless cupboard. There wasn't even an indoor bar, in fact there was nowhere to sit indoors with a drink before or after dinner - apart from the complete waste of space next to reception (where, understandably, I never saw a single person sit all week). The reception is right opposite the "front" door (which wasn't easy to find), and should surely be where the (closed) indoor bar is. Then you could make a proper comfortable bar/lounge area on the left side. It currently has the appeal of a train station waiting room. There is basically only one restaurant. The buffet restaurant has a view of a cold, stark corridor, and the a la carte restaurant is through a partition but is part of the same room. There was no wine list for the all-inclusive guests. How do you choose a glass of wine from a non-existent list? We ended up having to go and see the wine rack in order to choose something! The first bedroom we were offered was a dark, bleak room on the ground floor. Thankfully, we were moved on the 2nd day, and the room suite we then had was infinitely better. Staying in that first room for a week would have been a complete deal-breaker. I'm sorry to put a downer on this place because the staff were lovely, but I'm afraid it just didn't add up to the luxury holiday we had been led to expect.

We chose Asterion Suites & Spa to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. It was an exclusive adults only, small hotel and had absolutely everything we needed. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel special. We had a complimentary room upgrade and a bottle of fizz and cake in our room for our anniversary. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and very attentive from the reception staff, to the waiting staff, the bar staff and the cleaning and maintenance staff. The room was amazing, separate area for the bedroom, large bed, excellent quality linen and towels. Comfy sofa in the living area and good choice of coffee and tea in the kitchen. Really good selection of toiletries and personal care items in the bathroom too. The food is amazing particularly the 35° Cretan A La Carte restaurant. Excellent choice for breakfast and the a la carte menu for lunch was good too. The drinks and cocktails were amazing, loved that everything was measured properly and served in a proper plastic glass around the pool, George, the bar man, got to know our drinks and started making them as we walked towards the bar. The pool area was always clean, plenty of very comfy sun beds and pool towels that actually fitted the sun beds too. The hotel was straight on the beach, again, with plenty of sunbeds there too. Stunning hotel, very highly recommended and will definitely be back sometime.

We had a light flight into Charnia and when we arrived at Asterion just after 11PM we were greeted by warm & friendly staff. The staff throughout the our stay were amazing. An example? As we checked in & shown to our room, we learned that as it was late, a meal had been prepared and was waiting for us in our room along with a fruit plate, dessert and a bottle of wine. The Asterion Team anticipated our needs throughout. Rooms are well appointed and spacious. We had a sea view that also overlooked the splash pools. Very calm & serene. Food is of high quality, well prepared and not over complicated. Buffet breakfast has lots of options. Lunch and dinner menus were buffet or a la carte. Most guests opted for the a la carte which were great. Staff for meals are attentive and very pleasant. Beverage choices for all inclusive were wide ranging and I would say premium. There is also a nice wine list if you want something else. Asterion has an App for guests that allows you to order service at your sunbed, book dinner reservations and more. Great app. I k no ow other places have similar Apps but this one was quick and easy to use. Nicely done. Asterion is well located with a paved walking path next to the beach approx 1.5 lm long with access to other restos, stores etc. along the way. We would happily return.

Amazing staff, extremely freindly, Always going out of their way to help. Relaxed, unassuming atmosphere. Amazing location, on a nice little beach and yet twenty minutes drive to town. You will need a car or use taxis. Small place which was great for us. Rooms are a little less luxurious than more expensive places but that gave just the right ambience. Excellent breakfast. Lots of options.

We have just returned from a very special holiday at Asterion Suites. The staff here are absolutely exceptional & could not do enough for you. Beautifully clean everywhere and amazing rooms. The food was great but could’ve been hotter, which was a bit of a shame as it was presented & cooked beautifully. We were “All Inclusive” & really happy with the drinks, wine etc that was available to us. Perhaps, just a snack for lunch instead of a la carte might be nice sometimes. Unfortunately, the sea was a bit rough for a lot of our stay & we didn’t manage to go on the beach as much as we would normally. Best staff ever, thank you to Goran, & the restaurant staff. The pool bar staff were so lovely & the a la carte restaurant was great. We had an amazing holiday & would definitely return again.

We stayed here for seven days for our honeymoon and had the most incredible experience! We booked the Galaxy Room, which came with its own private pool. The hotel itself was modern, beautifully designed, and just the right size to feel luxurious. It was peaceful throughout our stay, and the entire property was spotless, with staff constantly ensuring everything was clean and well-maintained. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of the team—waiters, cleaning staff, bar staff, reception—was friendly, warm, attentive, and welcoming. A special thank you to Goran and Dimitris, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They remembered all the little details of what we liked, which made everything feel extra personal and thoughtful. The location was also very convenient, with a bus stop just a short walk from the hotel. We took advantage of this to visit Chania town, which was absolutely charming, and we also booked the safari sunset trip—highly recommended! The views were breathtaking, and we loved sampling local dishes, which added so much to the experience. The food at the hotel was outstanding, especially the à la carte dinners, which felt like a special occasion every evening. The live entertainment was another highlight—the violinist and saxophonist created such a magical atmosphere. This hotel is absolutely worth every penny. It was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon, and we’re so grateful for the wonderful memories. We can’t wait to come back!

We just returned from a weeks stay looking for a hotel to relax and press pause on life and this was a great choice. As all the reviews have covered the service was exceptional and accommodation immaculate. We stayed in a room with a swim up pool which was beautiful and spend equal amount of time there and on the large loungers near the beach. Batman the little black cat pops by for breakfast but he’s very unassuming and guests are kind to him. All staff were exceptionally kind and as the manager explained to us the hopes for what the hotel offers, he can be reassured all are delivering. Thank you so much for a perfect way to unwind and ease in to turning 50 This is not a party hotel and it doesn’t want to be and I am thankful. Credit to all who work there - thank you so much. Excellent hotel. Very nice and welcoming staff, clean and spacious rooms and enough options for relaxation. The spa is also outstanding. We enjoyed our stay here very much. Thank you!

What can we say that we did not on our last review. We loved it that’s why we came back. Location: is perfect and quiet. Hotel: Garden grounds have been well kept and grown beautifully. Room: Upgrade to sea view with balcony was perfect. Restaurant: From breakfast, lunch and dinner the food is great! Staff: As always first class. Wonderful people that great you with a smile.
