Egnatia Hotel in Ioannina

The hallways were dark and the elevator old. Although the room had comfortable beds, it sometimes had a weird smell. It didn't have plugs next to the beds. The hotel does not have breakfast.

You get what you pay for.
I’ll be honest. The staff is very friendly, polite and efficient.
The room was pretty disappointing though. I get it, the hotel is on the cheaper side and I don’t expect a 5star room when I am paying for a 2star hotel, but…here are things that would say for future guests about my experience here:
- the room smelled of smoking. (I am quite sensitive and I also find that disgusting)
- the hot water took 5 minutes of running to actually get warm enough to get under it
- the shower curtain was so insufficient that water was dripping out on the floor
- the refrigerator is making crazy noises (I had to unplug it to be able to sleep)
- and there is a window in the bathroom that faces the bathroom window of a neighboring tenant. The neighboring tenant left the light on for the entire night which was so annoying as it was as if I had to sleep with a light switched on in my room (I need dark spaces to be able to sleep well)

The smoking smell and the neighbor’s light being the worse things.

The night’s sleep was a constant battle working around annoying stuff.

On the positive side, the hotel has private underground parking, but that is also a maze and very hard to navigate and maneuver.

The hotel was a dump! It was cheap, but you can still expect a minimum level of cleanliness. I did not want to use the shower, it was horrible. The mattress was saggy and the room smelled bad. You could hear every noise in the room, you can't speak of peace and quiet here. The location is not bad, but we felt extremely uncomfortable here and just wanted to leave quickly.

Good hotel to stay just one night. İt's located very close the downtown of Ioannina. Anyhow one of my requirement when I booked was to have a garage or proper parking place. They have a garage but it's very difficult to get it, at least with my SUV. Therefore I was forced to park my car along the street.

just not worth it, hotel horror

The air condioning in the room wasn't working and the staff wasn't helpful. More importantly, there weren't hot water in the shower - the staff claimed that everything is on and the water should be hot buy in fact they weren't. Very annoying.
