Reviews
I would rate this hotel 0 stars if i could. I have not been to a worse hotel than the Hermes. To set the scene, we were under the impression that the hotel is a short walk to the beach however if you want to go to a nicer part of the beach be prepared to be walking 20+ mins. When we arrived to our room, the room had not been cleaned properly and the toilet was covered in bodily fluids. Every towel we were given was dirty and stained. This is not due to it being a greek hotel like some reviews say this is just down to the staff not caring enough to clean.
The biggest concern here is that the ceiling in our room collapsed directly above our bed. When we first got to the room i did notice a crack on the ceiling and thought nothing of this, however i was horribly wrong. The incident happened within seconds and we narrowly missed injury. Please see the images i have provided. The room and our belongings were covered in dust, many belongings we had to get rid of because of this and the fact that no one was sure of what materials were in the ceiling and if they were harmful or not. We alerted the staff member on the bar at the time who then called the owners, the owners were extremely hostile to us and acted as if we were an inconvenience in all this. Shouting at us in Greek and getting angry when we contacted Jet2. The lady then proceeded to say these things happen and only let us move next door to that room for the night, when we asked for a different block she said no ones going to clean it and we would have to do this ourselves. The owners then refused to alert the people in the room upstairs which also created a risk for them. It was a horrific incident that was treated with hostility and just goes to show how the owners do not care about their customers.
I was also disgusted with the way the staff and owners of the Hermes treat the cats living in the grounds of the hotel. They got annoyed with people feeding them and would shoo them away. These cats are all starving and skinny and its awful to witness them being treated this way.
Do not stay at the Hermes or give them any of your hard earned money - this place needs to be shut down.
Our room was clean and spacious but slightly dated (family room). Shower room is a bit of a nightmare as the floor floods from the shower and is very cold on a morning. Hot shower on an evening. Other than that great. We paid for the air-conditioning at around £47 for the week and tax was £35 ish i believe. Shout out to the cleaner who was lovely and always done a fantastic job.
Breakfast was basic but more than enough for a light bite on a morning. Selection of bread, cereal, cheese, ham, olives, tomatoes, feta, yogurts and melon. Also a coffee machine and teas.
Pool bar also serves snacks and ice cream and the pool was nice and we could always get a sun lounger.
Location of the hotel is great and if you go on Facebook kefalos chat you'll get loads of great recommendations for things in the area.
We stayed hear as a same sex family with our eight year old and the hotel felt very inclusive and we felt very safe in the area.
Considering we only paid 1k for the week for the 3 of us with flights and transfers in the summer holidays, I'd say this resort is very good value for money and we'll worth a visit if you get a good deal.
Late checkout may also be available if you ask, we paid 35 euro to keep our room till 6pm.
Good size outside pool, but freshwater and cold. Snack bar serving limited items.
Steep steps to the upper-level rooms. But amazing views from the rooms.
The bed wasn't to my liking, too soft for me.
Room had air conditioning which there is no charge for, a small fridge and a balcony with table and chairs.
Pool with a pool bar which serves quality food from 1000 - 1600, good choice selection and all cooked from fresh.
Hotel is a short walk from the main street (around 5-10minutes) and is up a hill a bit - this didn't bother us but might not suit the less mobile.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and couldn't fault the Hermes hotel 👌🏼👍🏼
Breakfast was okay, it’s a standard continental breakfast.
Hotel and amenities are clean and tidy, the rooms very clean.
