Where to stay in Santorini

We booked this back in July and it was a very cheap deal making it difficult to review!!! The hotel is better than average but not as good as “ very good” ( this is the flaw in Tripadvisor rating 3 being average 4 being very good!) We had booked a standard room and it was more a basement room , slightly below ground level which I would not recommend,Om assuming superior rooms are better. Breakfast...

We stayed at Perissa Bay for 4 nights in a twin room. The hotel and staff are fantastic. The hotel is well located and has its own bar/ restaurant/ pool and sun loungers on the beach- turn left or right and there are lots of bars and restaurants either way. Me and my friends had a blast eating and drinking in this place. They have lovely workers and boss, who are willing to go up and beyond so we as customers would be satisfy. This is a great place to stay close to the beach. We landed in Greece late night and we had to call the front desk since they are not there 24 hours. Make sure you communicate with them what time are you are arriving.

My husband and I spent two nights at Makriz Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. The location and the sunsets are amazing! Our room was clean and spacious and we got every day free water bottles.

The pool was broken and I couldn't use it. They charge €10 if you leave towels on the floor and don't even give me a warning. They charged me €50 for the towels and for accidentally soiling the bed cover. They simply left a note under the door to go to reception and say I had to pay €50. They demanded cash, and I insisted and would only pay by card and invoice. Other than that, everything went well

We booked the hotel considering the location and the pool, but when we arrived, we were informed that the pool had been closed for over a year! I think this information should be provided at the time of booking, as it makes all the difference.

Had a nice stay with my mother at the Horizon Resort. We enjoyed both Greek breakfast and service. The stuff at the hotel was polite and friendly, open to do their best to make our stay pleasant. The location of the hotel is quite nice, around 12min to the beach and 5min to the central bus stop.

Wow, what a view! We spent 2 nights in the double room which was much bigger than it looked online. We upgraded on the last night to the suite with the private jacuzzi and this was MORE than worth the cost (which I think they could charge double what they charge for this room). Amazing hotel! Location, pool, ambience, and the service from Gianni and his staff was excellent. It’s a small boutique hotel and very quiet but in a great location. The windows are double glazed so it is very quiet in the room. Fridge is a good size so you can buy drinks at the mini mart and stock up. Thoroughly recommend this hotel in Santorini.

A truly great hotel with views to match. The staff were extremely helpful, weather is was at breakfast or asking for directions or helping with our luggage they were always very helpful. This is a perfect place for an evening when you want to enjoy a cocktail. I really liked that they had comfortable seats and a beautiful view of the sea, making it an excellent spot to relax. Along with the drinks we ordered, they also served us peanuts and popcorn on the house, which was a pleasant surprise!

Clean and tidy, but the seat is a bit deceiving

Great venue. Very clean. Unfortunately the woman with brown hair (one of the sisters) was really rude and very abrupt and abrasive every morning during the breakfast service. She needs to relax and make guests feel more welcome. Her sister with the blonde hair was lovely.

The staff was so accommodating and really went above and beyond. They were great hosts, helped translate for us when we needed, shared stories with us, made recommendations for things in the area and were ready to help whenever we needed! I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return some day!
