My husband and I stayed here for 14 nights in July, we booked this hotel because we had read all the great reviews from other people, however for us it was NOT the amazing place everyone said it was, we were very disappointed! This review is by no means a rant or to put other people off staying here but simply just our opinion of the experience we had. The room we were given (No 13 on the ground floor) was absolutely awful, very dated and very dark, we had no patio doors, all we had was a front door and a small window which we had to keep the curtains closed on because our room was approximately 10 metres from the pool area so in order to have any privacy we couldn’t open the curtains or the door, it was very dark and dismal with no natural light! Rooms 11 and 12 were also on the ground floor with just a front door and small window. The curtains in our room were hanging off the window on one side and the pillows were flat and lumpy and the bathroom very dated with a shower curtain which also kept falling off the ceiling rail when you pulled it across. We asked if there was another room available and was told no they were all booked up which we knew they wasn’t because we’d seen other guests leaving! The pool didn’t seem very clean either and not enough sun beds since it’s only a small area, the sun beds were also full of stains. There was also zero atmosphere around the pool, it was like a library, with very little background music or interaction from the owners, don’t get me wrong we don’t like loud rowdy places but we do like a bit of background music and conversation / interaction with the staff, the only time they spoke is when you went to order food or drinks. Also please be aware it is up a very steep hill, we are in our early fifties and consider ourselves to be quite fit and although this was not a problem for us most of the time it was exhausting walking back up after a day at the beach in 35 degree heat. Having said that on the positive side the views are lovely. As I said early in our review this is not a complaint this is simply our opinion. Last year we stayed at another hotel on this beautiful island and it was amazing and we gave that hotel an excellent review, we only wish we had booked there again this year!
