Familly hotel with good breakfast very clean and good location

Great location to see downtown Budapest and value for money is also good.

The location was fairly convenient. The design was more modern than the photos, but the building was old. The bathroom had some issues: the doorknob was almost　falling off, and water was leaking from the shower tray. Breakfast was far below expectations.

You could hardly be in a more well located hotel! However, we were given a ron on the first floor, with a windows to a busy and noisy street. The carpet was ugly stained even though the cleaning lady tried hard to remove it. The front desk gays were kind and helpful.

Good location and convenient. Public transport is within 100-300 meters. Heroes square is hardly 300 meters. Rooms were clean and comfortable only thing missing was the electric kettle and complimentary coffee/tea and water. Bar opens 24/7 with many options of drinks and coffee but very limited options for food. Breakfast was good.

The location is excellent, right next to Heroes' Square. There's a large park nearby, perfect for a morning run or walk. The room was quiet and clean, but the amenities were limited; there was no mini-fridge or kettle.

Wonderful getaway from the city in the city 🥰 We spent 3 days here at Chtistmas. Nice breakfast, cosy wooden chalets with sauna, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Just loved it.

We stayed with a tour group. A boutique hotel with a beautiful architecture in nature. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that transportation is a bit of a problem if you don't have a vehicle. Greetings from Turkey.

The place is surrounded by trees on a lush green hill. It's cool even when the city is in a heat wave. The garden terrace is lovely in the mornings for breakfast and relaxing to chill there the rest of the day. I visited hotel twice. Fist time was fine and it was well organized. After my second visit, I noticed that the hotel has become quite neglected. The hygiene is very poor. I believe you can do much better.

The floor was dirty, and the bath towels weren't very clean either. The soundproofing was terrible. There was only one person working at the counter in the evening. It was very noisy with lots of people eating pizza and drinking near the entrance at night.

This now the third time returning to this hotel. Hotel is pretty decent , the rooms are tidy but a little bit small. Maybe a little complaint about the room fridge - too small and not enough strong .I guess for the price I can't really complain . Great hotel, good location with easy access to transportation. Good breakfast, a lot of options to choose from. SPA zone seemed a bit too small, just a sauna and jacuzzi, might get crowded if more guests decide to come, but we still enjoyed it. Good WiFi. Stayed in this hotel for three nights. Modern, comfi room and very clean. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Didn't use the swimming pool but it looked like a nice place to chill. The beach is just at the end of the street, a short stroll away. And everything else is walking distance too. Good value and would stay here again!

The hotel service was excellent, and its location right next to the train station made public transport incredibly convenient for reaching any attraction. The room was very good. We included breakfast as well which got a big choice of food present and also drinks. From hygiene there were some curtains that had some stains. My parents-in-law always stay here when visiting. It's obviously not a five star hotel but the price is rights, the rooms are clean and the staff does their best. I stayed here for 1 night with my sister last summer and our room was really big, almost like a small home. I know I paid double the amount for rooms not even half as big before. The location wasn’t the best for our trip but there was an aldi at a gas station nearby. And the gentleman at the front desk was very kind.

Overall our stay was lovely, however, the property no longer has the rooftop terrace area with the views or the basilica which was one of the reasons we booked. We had plans to utilise this area instead of cooking every night, however, it is now a dental clinic. Very disappointing this is still being advertised.

3 star hotel only. Cleaness and modern furniture will be the most concern for guests who are thinking of booking a room here. But the rooms are spacious indeed. It feels like we are living back to the Soviet era with timed old building and crack pattern street in front. And boild eggs with sausages will be your breakfast are main dishes for every morning you wake up and step in to the cafeteria.

This is a great budget hotel! It's convenient, practical, and very clean, with all the essential facilities. The atmosphere is also quite cozy. In the lobby, there's a 24-hour self-service machine offering hot water, hot chocolate, coffee, and various flavored tea bags – though the coffee isn't the best. The front desk staff are also very friendly. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Budapest...

I have slept at more than 30 hotels in Budapest and this hotel is in top 3. The location is perfect. It has indoor parking which is very good for people travelling by car. The stuff is friendly. Coffee for free in the morning whether you pay for breakfast or not. The rooms are clean and they have anything that you need.

Given the low price, it's unreasonable to compare it to a luxury hotel; it's exactly what you'd expect for the cost. However, I booked it because the listing said there was private parking, but there isn't. It's just public street parking. The hotel description should accurately state that it's public parking instead of claiming to have private parking.

The Hotel Chesscom has come a long way and improved/changed significantly in the last ten years. For guests who depart or land at Budapest Airport, the location as well ad the price/quality ratio is hard to beat.
