Hotel Ventura in Budapest

It was nice to live here among students from Kazakhstan like me. Having come here for studies, I wanted to live not too far from the city center. It's a 40-50 minute walk to the center and my university buildings. The kitchen is small but adequate for the price. Our room had three beds; we shared a room and paid 100,000 HUF each. The room had a shower and a sink with a faucet. However, the bathroom wasn't very clean before we arrived; there was mold in the corners. We used detergent, but unfortunately, it didn't completely clean it. The room also had a refrigerator, four tables, and three chairs. The beds were in good condition, and the mattress was new. However, I didn't really like the fact that plaster was falling from the ceiling onto the floor and our dining table every day. The dryer was only electric, so we had to hang everything on the radiator and chairs, which wasn't very comfortable for two, let alone three. Sometimes one of the washing machines in our laundry room (it was free) would break down, and there would be a huge pile of clothes on it. The hostel staff also washed their clothes in these machines. There was a problem with one of the light fixtures in our room. I had to constantly keep asking for it to be changed. The room was a bit dark because of this. We did our homework like students. After three weeks, we finally got a light bulb installed. Another drawback was that there was never anyone at the reception, and the manager only works from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There wasn't even security, but it seemed like no one else was there. Overall, it's a good and inexpensive hostel for students, but it's also a staff house. The kitchen, laundry, and classrooms were cleaned daily.
