In a very central location, close to the lake and the port, this hotel was apparently the summer home of the 'nation's nightingale', singer Lujza Blaha (1850-1926). Today, with its 27 small rooms, it doesn't give you the feeling that it was once inhabited by a female artist. When there during the week early September I was the only guest and there was only one elderly man present, who took came of everything, from reception to breakfast. He spoke German, but wasn't very talkative. I appreciated though that he drove me for free to the railway station at departure. He then told me also that only now there were no other guests and that during weekends the hotel is always fully booked with people from Budapest. My room was on the first floor and there is no elevator. It was a very small room, where a large bed took almost the whole space, but it was still functional. So it had a writing desk, which is always important for me, a wardrobe, an empty fridge and light by the bed for reading. Also it was quiet at night with hardly any traffic on the street below my window. At breakfast there was a buffet and the man in charge prepared me fried eggs. It had yoghurt, cereals, whole apples and oranges, jam, honey, cold cuts, cheese, different type of breads, sweet baked goods and a Lavazza coffee machine.

It also has a restaurant with an outdoors section. Which is, where we sat in the summer. When we asked the waitress whether we can smoke at the table, her answer was: "Is there an ashtray on the table?" Which it was not. She was an old woman, and her attitude recalled our worst memories from the so-called socialism. Brr!

Cozy hotel with a nice restourant, staff speaks German. It is located right in tge center of Balatonfüred so excellent for experiencing and enjoying the spirit of the town.

I was in the room 12 and it was very confortable. The bed was amazing I fell asleep very fast and I woke up to bird sing. The staff was very helpful and food was tasty. The breakfast was varied. This hotel is situated near the center.

Despite the fact that the hotel is in a good location, the hotel is very dirty. The carpet in the corridors is very dirty, the smell is unpleasant. In the room it is terrible - dirty from the mirror to the carpet . Everywhere there is dust. There is no gel in the shower filler. I never recommend this hotel to anyone.For this amount of money you can find more nice quality.We staying with my husband in room 184 in August 2021

Everything was awesome, the staff was kind, the food was really cool, not to mention the spa. It is also possible to rent a bike. The classic rooms felt like a bit old (furniture, design), but this was the lowest category so it would be a same to give 4 because of this. 🙂

Nice hotel close to restaurants and great relax department. On the downside, the beds in our room were not great, and there is no hotel beach access.
