Endless problems. Its a shared space, fine. The bathroom was missing a flusher lever for the toilet. Window was taped over with cardboard. Some insane person burned shrimp in the shared kitchen so the bathroom reeked of shrimp and i couldnt open the window in the bathroom because it was broken. Stayed in room number 6. One of the curtains was broken and laying on the floor. The power outlet cover was laying underneath the beds and the outlet itself was fully exposed in the wall. Besides that other guests were constantly slamming doors until 3 am. The radiators in the room barely worked at all so it was constantly hot and cold. And my blanket had a hole in it when i got there. Felt like a hostel

Stayed one night in the main building, on the way to Stuðlagil Canyon, and another night in the annex building on the way back. Overall, a comfortable hotel for the price, with a clean shared kitchen and bathroom, and warm rooms.

A good example of how other guests can ruin a decent place to stay. Rooms were big by guesthouse standards and had luggage racks but had only one functioning power outlet. Medium speed WiFi. Window in room #2 did not fully close so the cold wind could blow inside. Bed and linens were nice, no complaints. Upon arrival kitchen was not clean and was being used, kitchen was not cleaned during our stay and remained quite dirty, unwashed dishes in sink, uneaten food in cooking pots and food left out on counters. A large group of guests occupied kitchen and dining area and cooked dinner from 10pm to past 1 am, (quiet time was stated on email confirmation to be 10pm) playing games, laughing and being very disrespectful. They left the kitchen totally uncleaned and unusable in the morning for other guests. They left cooking pans with noodles in them on the stove among other things, the place was a total mess. They also (I assume) took my zipped and self contained bad of cold food out of the refrigerator and left it on the kitchen counter that night so when I went to gather my food in the morning it had been out all night; milk, cheese, lunch meats, yoghurts...nice.
Many places we have stayed in Iceland that are "Guesthouses" are slightly glorified hostels that differ only by having private rooms. You will find similar hostel clientele and hostel behavior so take that into account. Guesthouses are very often unattended and have no reception so there is no monitoring of facilities other than the cleaning of rooms, bathrooms and kitchens once daily after checkouts, troublesome guests are left to be as out of control as they care to be.
I realize that this was the case for me on this one night but it was pretty bad. It made the stay very unpleasant and use of the kitchen impossible for me and other guests.

The room was clean and the shared facilities were perfectly fine for our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped, which made things easy. It’s conveniently close to Netto supermarket, so grabbing essentials was simple. One thing to note: noise carries from the kitchen, so if you have noisy neighbors staying up late, you might hear everything. Overall, a good place for one night while passing through.

The shared kitchen and the location were great but our rooms had not been cleaned before we arrived : the bin was full of used tissues, the towels were still wet and laid carelessly on the chairs and it looked like the bedsheets too had not been changed, there was a lot of hair and dust on it. It was the most expensive guesthouse of our trip but the worst.

Cute little guesthouse decked out with mainly ikea bits and pieces. The kitchenette was very small but had lots of kitchen stuff. Luckily we were early and no one else cooked. There is no communal space and hence guests disappeared in their rooms.

When we pointed out a few maintenance issues the staff was very responsive.
However, there was some maintenance issues which need to be addressed.
The kitchen bench was not sturdy and supported by a broken leg. The microwave didn’t work and the coffee machine was inoperable after 1 coffee.
The tap in 1 bathroom was very loose etc.
I was very disappointed about the town itself. it lacks character and ambience.

Stayed before. All good again. Other guests were respectful with noise and kept the shared kitchen and bathroom clean.

The facilities at Hepburn Hotel are bright, simple and clean.
The only downside is that there wasn't enough toilet paper.
When we went to the bathroom the next morning, we found that all the toilet paper had been used up. It was probably because other guests took it to the kitchen and used it all up. It was really embarrassing.

The self-check-in was very convenient, the instructions were very clear, the location was very good, the room was very comfortable, but the kitchen was a little messy, but this was also caused by the tenants, they didn't clean it properly after use, but the kitchen utensils were complete, everything was available
