One of the best hotels in Kolkata. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff is polite. The food is simply delicious :). The colonial interior design with all the modern amenities makes the stay here a pleasant one.

We've stayed here several times. One of the best Taj hotels in India. An example of how an older property can be maintained so well. The staff provides excellent service. I love the rooms.

When you can't go to your favorite place, let's bring it home! My favorite part of the buffet is the desserts from Taj Bengal. Due to the pandemic, I haven't been there since last March. I ordered a red velvet cake from Taj Bengal Bakery for my daughter's birthday. The cake was so delicious and moist! Highly recommended! And very reasonable!

Arrived late at night for check-in. The room was incredibly spacious, with a living room, dining area, and bedroom. The downsides were that the glass door to the living room balcony couldn't be opened, and the bedroom had no windows, which felt very claustrophobic. The room's facilities were dated, and the renovation work wasn't very effective. The hallway had an overpowering scent that was quite strong. However, the breakfast buffet was excellent. For a Taj property, paying just over 800 for this type of room was acceptable, with the only real issue being the age of the room's facilities.

I booked The Taj for 5 star services, however i was disappointed how they handled communication where i ended up paying Rs 7000. If you need transportation services to or from hotel please take it carefully. When i brought this concern to hotel they mention they will bring this to their staff members and nothing has been reported yet. Not worth this place !!
