We’re cyclists from Australia and have been travelling around the world on our bikes for 5 years. We received a wonderful welcome by the staff and everyone couldn’t do enough for us. The room was comfortable, the hotel itself had a great feel about it making us feel at home. The gym and spa were fantastic. The food was superb and so were all the wait staff. Everyone was super attentive to all our needs. Highly recommend this hotel and in such a great location too.

My friend and I decided to stay here because of the location and reviews. It was a good location…honestly we Ubered everywhere but it seemed like a good base. The room was tinier than expected, but met our needs. It was clean, everything worked, no one bothered us when we had our “don’t bother us” sign on. The shower was ok…could have been hotter, but good pressure. I do wish we had been able to check out late, but they held out luggage on the last day. I skipped breakfast each morning, but my friend said it was good!

We booked for 4 nights and will definitely be staying again next time we visit Kolkata.
The rooms are cosy, spotlessly clean, and well appointed with any facilities you require. The staff are friendly, dedicated, and helpful. The food and drinks are also delicious.
The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, close to the famous bars and restaurants of Park Street.

I had a good stay at the hotel in Kolkata. The rooms were comfortable, and its location is a definite advantage—close to popular attractions such as Victoria Memorial and the vibrant Park Street area, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining. However, the TV service could be improved; I often wanted to watch the news, but only app-based options were available, which was somewhat inconvenient. *Review: One-Night Stay at Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata*

I recently stayed for one night at the Kenilworth Hotel in Kolkata and would rate my overall experience as a 6 out of 10. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially in terms of its location and general ambiance, but there are also a few aspects that could use improvement.

To begin with the positives, the hotel is situated in a very convenient and well-connected area. Being close to central Kolkata, it’s easy to access various parts of the city, whether for business or leisure. The immediate surroundings are pleasant and relatively peaceful, which added to the comfort of the stay.

The room provided was decent—clean, well-organized, and equipped with the expected amenities for a four-star property. The bed was comfortable, and the room had adequate lighting and storage space. The bathroom was functional and clean, although not particularly luxurious. In terms of comfort and upkeep, the room met my expectations.

One feature I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s gym facility. It was clean, well-maintained, and had a decent range of equipment for a quick workout. For a short stay, it was more than sufficient and a welcome amenity for anyone looking to stay active while traveling.

However, one significant downside was the dining experience. The biggest letdown was the limited food choices, especially in the set dinner menu. While the staff were polite and the service was timely, the menu lacked variety and felt quite restrictive. For a property of this category, I had expected a broader range of options, including some regional or seasonal specials. The lack of flexibility and limited appeal of the dinner options certainly took away from an otherwise comfortable stay. It might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but for those who enjoy exploring a hotel’s culinary offerings, this can be a sore point.

The check-in and check-out processes were efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful. There was a general air of professionalism throughout the hotel staff, which contributed positively to the experience.

In conclusion, Kenilworth Hotel offers a reliable and comfortable stay with the added benefit of a good location and useful amenities like the gym. However, the lackluster food options—especially in the set dinner menu—stand out as an area that needs improvement. With a little more attention to dining and guest preferences, the hotel could elevate its overall appeal. For now, I would consider it a decent option for short stays, especially if dining isn’t your top priority.

100% pure authentic south indian joint. Down couple of decades neither menu has changed nor quality and if am not wrong, even customers are coming back again and again with cozy feel of environment. Always enjoy food here

My favourite South Indian restaurant in the whole world, and had been for the last 20 years or so. It is as if time has stood still at this restaurant. They still have the same food quality, waiters that seven served me when I was a kid, and tables with the same veneer from a decade ago. They still don't accept any other than cash, and have lunch time quite it of the door. The only thing that has been changing is the cost. It has increased regularly, but don't get me wrong - it is fair price, and certainly not expensive.

Don't go for decor or ambience. But if you want idlys that melt in your mouth.. this is the place. 5 trips to this restaurant in a ten day visit! :)

Highly recommended.
