The hotel has a great atmosphere, showcasing Balinese cultural architectural features, and the rooms are clean and spacious. It's a bit far from the palace, so you definitely need to take a taxi. Although it's next to the Monkey Forest, that entrance is closed, so you have to go to the main entrance, which is quite a bit further.

Booking this hotel was definitely the highlight of our Bali trip! We stayed for 5 days and rented a scooter right at the hotel entrance. It was super convenient for getting around since the hotel is centrally located in Ubud. We easily rode to Lovina, Mount Batur, and the Black Sand Beach.

The hotel environment is fantastic, giving you that 'rainforest' vibe. It's very quiet, so we had excellent sleep at night. The breakfast was good too. While the variety wasn't huge, it met our basic needs, and the coffee was delicious. One morning, we had an early start for the dolphin watching tour in Lovina and couldn't make it to breakfast, but the staff kindly prepared and left our breakfast at the front desk for us by 6 AM.

My child used the pool and mentioned it was a *little* bit dirty, but they didn't spend much time swimming anyway.

Good and quiet location, cozy with very nice bedding.
Delicious breakfast. There are two swimming pools.
Very friendly staff.

The hotel environment is excellent, and the service is warm and friendly. The location is quite convenient, not far from the city center. For an extra 50 yuan, you can upgrade to a floating breakfast, which really adds to the rainforest ambiance. There's also a laundry service, charged per item.

We loved staying at Villa Sonia. It’s in a great location - not in the hustle and bustle of all the shops, but close enough to get there in 10-15 minutes. It’s surrounded by cafes and restaurants, as well as M Marts (like seven eleven) and spas! The villa also has it’s own restaurant and spa, which is really convenient. Apart from all these conveniences, the villa is also really beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. An umbrella and plug adapter was also provided for our room - which was amazing since we didn’t bring any of those with us. We definitely recommend this place, and will choose it again if we ever travel to Ubud again.

It was amazing experience to stay here.

A small but cozy villa complex, tucked away from the busy town of Ubud. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, clean and very affordable for what you get.

While not quite in the centre of the town, the wall to town is enjoyable and the hotel also can organise drop offs to the town centre.

While breakfast is nothing to shout about, everything else you get here more than makes up for it.

Would visit again.

Great place, amazing and kind staff, close to Ubud Center (just turn right before monkey forrest and follow fence)
Cheap and taisty coctails - especially Mohito
In villa sonia its really silent and peacefull compares to other places in Ubud.
Free shetule
Motorbikes only IDR 75k/ 24h
Apartment suite is just the best
No mosquitos!!! - they use fogging
Room cleand everyday
Also staff brings every night anti mosquito things
Definitely recommemd ???

A lovely stay at Villa Sonia! The receptionists were incredibly accommodating providing welcome drinks on arrival and carrying our bags to the room. Breakfast was yummy with many options. The place had two pools and towels were provided on sun loungers.

We stayed for a couple of nights. The staff provided very good service, and the place was very clean and well maintained. The pool was clean, and the breakfast was good.

For dinner, I recommend eating in the town center—it’s not far from the village and you can walk there in about 10–15 minutes. Calling a Grab to go to the center is also easy.
Overall room and service it is very good value for money.

Recommendations
One area that needs significant improvement is the spa, especially cleanliness. The spa area did not feel clean enough, which made it difficult to relax.

In addition, the massage therapist did not ask about the pressure during the treatment. We booked a 90-minute massage, but it felt shorter than expected.

The price was much higher than spas outside, but the cleanliness and overall experience did not match the price paid. The spa should be improved, particularly in terms of hygiene, to better reflect the cost.

Good pizza. Good salads. Ask for your pizza to be cooked a little extra. Great spot for those wanting a break from Balinese.

Best meal in Bali so far. All 4 of us loved our meal. Service was great and meals were on the table in 15 minutes which is rare in Bali.

Great food for a special night. They do wonderful meals that for some maybe more typical tourist (club sandwich), but they still offer adventurous/ local food for those who still want to taste local cuisine. The dancing and plays they put on are worth seeing!

Really lovely place with delicious food and attentive staff. The place is huge! I'm the rear there is a giant open air garden for dinner in a very picturesque settings. It has its own performance space for Balinese dance which they put on different shows several nights a week. You can also do cooking classes during at two times during the day.

We went on a Wednesday to see Barong and Kristie performance which was very entertaining. We paid 200k to each which included the giant buffet dinner in the picture's above and the dance. We also got a welcome drink, soup starter and dessert and coffee. Couldn't fault the experience in any way! Really recommended place to visit.
