Komaneka at Monkey Forest in Ubud

Tastefully decorated in traditional Balinese style and very peaceful despite the central location.
Yoga with rice field views was a highlight — with occasional monkeys quietly watching, which made it special and very “Ubud”.
Delicious breakfast and consistently warm, polite service.
Special mention to Ms Ade, the manager — a wonderful host who makes guests feel genuinely welcome.

My father and I stayed at Komaneka at Monkey Forest in February, 2026. The staff went to great lengths to personalize our stay and ensure we had a great experience, including memorizing our names and writing our names atop the foam of our morning coffees!

The location is perfect if you want to walk down the street to visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary or walk up the street to visit the Ubud Palace or partake in Ubud's nightlife.

I also visited the Komaneka Fine Art Gallery during my visit and loved the watercolor paintings of Chang Fee Ming.

Hotel’s staffs were taking such great care of us.
The location is perfect — right in the middle of Ubud, with everything within a 10-minute walk.
And the towels; Super fluffy and clean. Loved it.

My wife and I are on our one-month honeymoon across Southeast Asia, and this has been by far the best and friendliest hotel we’ve stayed at. There were a few minor things, but honestly I don’t even want to mention them because I don’t want anyone to hesitate when booking this place. It’s truly amazing—especially if you want to be surrounded by wildlife and wake up to monkeys outside your window.

What stood out the most was the staff and their exceptional service. They go out of their way to remember every guest’s name and do everything they can to make you feel welcome and special.

Highly recommend Komaneka Monkey Forest!! We were searching for last minute accommodation after our previously booked stay had problems with the AC working and put us in a very small room while on our honeymoon. We reached out to Komaneka about a room, which they were able to book us into immediately. We saved quite a bit by booking directly over the phone, and they were ready to welcome us immediately. Upon hearing it was our honeymoon, they filled the bathtub with rose petals, brought us an adorable and delicious honeymoon cake, and decorated the bed in beautiful art from palm pieces. The hotel grounds are gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the rooms spacious and perfectly clean. We were greeted each time we came and went by Ade, who is such a warm and kind person. We felt like we were at home! Thank you Ade and the rest of the Komaneka team! Truly above and beyond.

Komaneka at Monkey Forest resort was the perfect representation of the Bali hospitality. Every person knows your name and what you like. The hospitality is so thoughtful, genuine and customized. They treat you like family and they mean it. We have traveled to many countries around the world but this one will remain very memorable and will be one of the top experiences. Amazing food and beautiful natural landscape. They even did a 3AM pharmacy run for my son since he fell sick on the last day and there was genuine care. My son especially created some very special bonds that he will remember for life. We will be back soon. That’s for sure.

Great customer service, all the staff are very kind and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and the staff were prompt with cleaning. The only thing I would note is that it would be great to see more dedicated vegan options on the menu. If more vegan options are added I would love to come back!

A beautiful place to stay ! Away from the Main Street so it’s quiet but close enough to walk to all the shops and restaurants. The staff here are so kind and helpful. Will be staying here again in the future.

Excellent service with professional and friendly staff,we really felt at home. You can tell great care is taken in helping guests live Ubud to the full. Location is very handy to walk around Ubud (15min walk to monkey forest) and the rooms are also great, air conditioning works perfectly and the beds are very comfortable. Only thing that could be improved is the restaurant times, restaurants in Ubud are currently closing very early (around 9pm) so it would help to have the restaurant serve at later times. We easily solved the issue by having room service anyway.

We stayed on early April and spent 3 nights at this resort.
The staffs are really helpful and eager to help in anyway they can despite not being high season since Bali is just starting to open its border.
Service and food are nothing less than excellent.
Afternoon tea provides traditional savoury and sweets with option of tea or coffee which we enjoyed daily.
They even surprised us with birthday cake and bed decoration when we least expect it. A really nice effort and thank you for everything during our stay.

This resort is located just behind art gallery with the same name 'Komaneka' right on Monkey Forest road.
No one will expect behind the hustle and bustle of Monkey Forest street, there is still a piece of jungle hidden which can be viewed from the pool in this resort, our room has rice paddies view with troops of monkeys sometimes graze along looking for food due to lack of visitors in Monkey Forest Sanctuary.

A lot of dining and shopping options, despite reduced due to pandemic, are still available around the vicinity with relatively short walk distance to Ubud main road.

Already looking forward for another visit in the future!
