Hotel Village Club Santa Caterina in Scalea

Decent hotel, with great food, helpful staff and beautiful location. Sea view rooms are fantastic!

Great value for money! No resort fee because it is off season, so the stay was for about 40 EUR/night. Hotel was almost empty (end of october). Modern, renovated rooms with newest technology. Nice italian breakfast. Super nice service, they changed my room to sea view as it is stated in my booking (not every hotel does that, looking at you, Al Moggar Agadir...). So I got a room with balcony facing to the sea with breathtaking sunsets. 2 pools but I only used the smaller one (the big one was already fenced). Direct access to the beach. Free parking and wifi.

Great service at a nice facility with average hotel rooms. The food, however, was really, REALLY GOOD!

The only downside at Hotel Santa Caterina Village is the deplorable internet provided. The internet here is ALMOST WORTHLESS!

Beautiful location, close to the sea with private beach, which, sadly, is only open from 8-20h. Very tasty food and cuisine in a form of buffet with free water available in the restaurant. The hotel also has pool areas that require swimming hat, a bar where you pay with your hotel card and an open theatre. The rooms are nice, air-conditioned (which is changeable at the reception) and cleaned daily. The staff are (mostly but not all) very sweet, even behind the language barrier. The locality is good with city centre being 5 minute walk away. However, you can expect everyday activities and loud music playing on the beach throughout the day which can be annoying to someone. Also expect lots of (often screaming) kids.

Overall, great experience!

Decent location. Close to many stores and restaurants. The buffet meals are nicely set up. Easy to access the private beach area. Very clean and service is great. Would definitely stay there again.

Calabria is a beautiful area in Italy where you can spend a pleasant holiday. We visited Santa Caterina Village Club. The hotel consists of two separate buildings, which are connected by an underpass where the shops were supposed to be. Unfortunately, only one store was opened during our stay. The main building has been fully renovated with magnificent sea views. However, we were accommodated in the second hotel building, which was still in its original condition. It offers rooms with a nice view of the quiet garden. The rooms were tidy and clean but the equipment of the rooms was outdated. Since we had an all-inclusive breakfast, lunch and dinner were buffet-style. The bar is located next to the restaurant, where you could choose from a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks. The menu was very varied. Unfortunately, the meals consisted mainly of vegetables. The beach was sandy and pebble with a gradual entry into the sea. The beach was cleaned every evening by the hotel staff. There are also two swimming pools on site. Overall, I rate this hotel pleasantly and recommend it to visit.
