Hotel Village Club Santa Caterina in Scalea

There were three of us there, two adults and a baby (3 months). When we arrived we were surprised that the average age in the hotel was over 60. The hotel is divided into two buildings, one which was behind the street, where you had a very long walk to the main building. We got a room which was not designed for a baby at all, a very small shower with a fixed shower head, no baby bed and very run down with mold in the bathroom, the water from the tap was slightly dirty. I asked for a different room as part of the hotel was being renovated and I would have paid for it... unfortunately they couldn't help me. When I saw the full buses where all the pensioners got off, I realized that this was their target group. The food was really a disgrace for Italy, designed for mass. The coffee from the vending machine was colored water... You can also get real coffee at the bar but only if you pay extra for it... we decided to leave the hotel after one night to save our vacation and of course to provide a better environment for the baby. Unfortunately I lost a lot of money but I don't regret it.
