Where to stay with kids in Calabria

We stayed for a week in October in a two bedroom family room which was perfect for our stay with two young children

We loved the heated family pool which was a nice temperature and the kids splash park was great for our toddler! Be aware the big slides are for ages 5-10

The beach was a short walk through the forest with playground and hammocks on the way. The sunsets were incredible and so nice to enjoy a cocktail at the beach bar all inclusive

We had our wonderful October Holiday in Tui magic Calabria. Really best food, thank you restaurant staff. Great selection of different types of dishes: a lot of fish we have tasted during our stay, amazing pasta & pizza

The entire Calabria TUI Team, including the animation crew, work tirelessly to ensure guests have the best possible experience

We thought the food was delicious at the main restaurant and the other restaurants and our daughter loved sitting at the kids table and buffet area which made it a lot more relaxed for us! We enjoyed a morning excursion to pizzo organised by the hotel

My child loves it here and there are super facilities for older kids and little ones. This was our 2nd visit and we will come again

I stayed with family and friends August 2023. Very small, in the greenery of the olive trees, well-kept greenery. Football and basketball field present

We really enjoyed the wonderful environment, nature and bars in village and on the beach too. The kids keep begging us to return here again. This was our the best vacancy at all

People here are very kind and good-hearted. Italian cuisine is wonderful and delicious, varied and with lots of perfectly prepared vegetables and other ingredients

The water is so clear that on calm days you would swear it was glass. The pool area is well organized, with separate areas of loungers if you prefer some quiet time during the day

The rooms, gardens and facilities are recently renovated and kept in immaculate condition and are stunningly beautiful! The private beach with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas is situated right in front of a separate beach bar and restaurant, which makes it convenient to spend your day there without wanting for anything

Every year we visit (this was our third), the food experience gets better and better, with an incredible variety of foods prepared by chefs that results in what feels like a truly elevated experience over many other resorts

We are on a Puglia and Calabria road trip and Praia Art was our second stop, from the moment we arrived everything was professionally done, our luggage was taken care of, we had a warm and friendly greeting, welcome drink by the beautiful beach and sea was a very nice touch, great recommendations for where to visit, all of this before we entered our beautiful sea view suite

The staff are warm and friendly and this rubs off on hotel guests with people chatting and welcoming. Breakfast buffet is a little slow as you need to select your food, but no real hardship

Checkout was easy and straightforward. We would confidently recommend this hotel to our friends and family and we will be back for sure

My fiancé and I had a good 5 night stay at this hotel. It has lovely views, two pools, and is in an okay location (although a steep hill if walking)

When we arrived by train the hotel asked if we wanted a taxi but we were unsure when we were going to arrive so we told them we would just grab one ourselves when we arrived well there are not taxis available at all! We called the hotel and they told us it would be 40 min before they could come and get us so we decided to walk the mile to the resort

Bottom line order a taxis from the hotel. This hotel is in the middle of nothing so you need to take a car everywhere. The rooms are spacious and clean. The spa was also a nice treat

The bathroom was well stocked, though the shower showed signs of wear and could benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. The property grounds were exceptional, beautifully landscaped and maintained to a very high standard

Watch out for traffic if walking out of the property, specially with children, since it is near a busy intersection with no walkway. Property has a restaurant and a nice swimming pool. Good view of downtown from the top

Great location just steps away from the main walkway through the town of Tropea. Quiet, nice pool, variety of food at breakfast and pleasant staff!! Would stay here again and recommend to my friends in Canada.🇨🇦

Hotel Tropis is great! It is clean and the rooms. 4 minute walk to train station. Short walk to city centre and the beach. The pool is great and relaxing environment

Big rooms and nice pool I would have given 5 stars but our AC was broken... Hotel is on a hill so expect to walk a decent amount into town. The shuttle is $30 to the beach.

We stayed in a room with a sea view, a gorgeous view. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but acceptable. The only thing is that there was no free water in the room

My wife and I were vacationing in the area and we discovered the Altafiumara by literally looking up from the beach. We went up there curious about the potential view over the straight of Messina

It didn't disappoint, the view is amazing. We could not stay there because it was fully booked, but we tried the restaurant and they invited us to hang out by the pool for the rest of the afternoon

Food: whoever wrote that they had breakfast outside the hotel or ate outside, allow me to tell you: you have some serious problem! The food is not only of excellent quality, very fresh fish every day at lunch and dinner, sauces to mop up, pasta always al dente, abundant portions, a bottle of wine offered at every meal and opened in front of us, super breakfast! From sweet to savory, nothing is missing

What can I say, they are the heart of this hotel, they are extraordinary, professional, kind, always ready to satisfy any customer request, with a smile and infinite patience, given that some customers are rude and complain about made up things

they create long queues, inconvenience to the customer, terrible coffee and problems for the dining room staff who with immense patience look for solutions that unfortunately they can't find since it doesn't depend on them

Very competent staff, special mention for the waiters. Excellent food both meat and fish. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped rooms. Sorry not to have tried the Spa

Very good views, and nice beach. The staff is not good, the animation team when they know that you don't speak Italian They'll fully ignore you. This hotel is more for Italians, not for other tourists

All inclusive covers all you really need, drinks included. On the downside, the area is huge and you have to walk a lot (unless you are willing to wait for the provided train which is not always available)

I can confirm there are jellyfish in the sea as I have got stung by one myself. You might want to be careful if you are allergic or more vulnerable to a jellyfish sting

Excellent four star resort, with a wonderful view on the bay of Santa Maria. The staff is well trained, although too few for such big resort

Unfortunately the hotel is sandwiched between two other hotels which have loud sound systems that are audible from the pool! The hotel is very remote and there aren't any bars or restaurants in walking distance (other than the bar of the hotel next door which we visited for lunch one day)

We spent a week in a superior room here end of September. The hotel garden is wonderful, very well kept, clean. The room was spacious, bathroom great, everything clean. Enough place to store clothes

My family and I were recently guests at Baia del sole. Our family lives in the area and my cousin got married so it was nice to be nearby. Very friendly staff, we got to know them each morning for breakfast

Crossing the street (pretty Dangerous) you can reach a commercial center with a pharmacy, supermarket, various shops, restaurants and cinema. In the hotel there is a small gym, little pool and restaurant

Beautiful hotel just a stone's throw (well a short shuttle ride) from the stunning Calabrian coast that is a delight for snorkellers of all ages
