Where to stay with kids in Calabria

Sitting by the pool in the private lodge is lovely and quiet and there is a bar for you to select a drink. The evening entertainment I thought was poor, there was nothing other than a few dance shows

We had clean pool towels delivered to our room every evening. We had a lovely terrace overlooking some flowers

Whilst we were there we did Archery, Football, Table tennis, Pool, Darts, Canoeing, Shuffle board, Water polo, Fitness classes

There was someone playing the piano at the private lodge bar some nights which was nice. Trips We got the shuttle bus down into Pizzo at 10eur each for a return trip. It goes 3 times a day and you get 3 hours there

Rooms We stayed in the private lodge which is for 16+ It was definitely worth the extra. Our room had a coffee machine with coffee pods, kettle and fridge containing soft drinks and beer

I found the block we stayed in to be noisy in a morning people did just let their doors bang and it just seemed to be constant by 8-8. Food We mainly ate in the private lodge dining area

We also saw crabs and once a mussel. It was a bit weird that we were required to wear swim hats in the pool to protect the pump from hair, but this was a minor thing and kind of funny

It was just a couple of minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Italy! I really suggest going in June when the weather is prefect and the crowds haven't arrived!

We were there mainly for the bathing with our children and didn't get bored of the sea or the pool. The sea was fantastic with clean, clear, warm water and healthy animal life. Mainly plaice and 4 cm long fish

The only complaint was that the WiFi Internet only worked occasionally, but there was perfect 4G coverage. The yoga classes were a nice bonus. The instructor was incredibly helpful and encouraging

There were also evening entertainment with dancing that became the evening highlight for some kids. The dance leader was very engaging and energetic and a perfect fit for her job!

We've just finished a five-day retreat in this charming place. Great staff courteous and professional. The food is served from the heart. The rooms are cute and clean and tidy

Located right on the beach, the Costa Blu hotel is an ideal base for exploring Calabria, as well as a great place to relax by the sea. The hotel staff will help you in any situation

A special mention goes to Asia from the entertainment team, a very friendly all-rounder who I hope we will find again next year and to Deborah who takes care of the pool bar

The village is very clean as is the pool which is treated and cleaned practically at all times, there is great care and every hitch is resolved in record time

The seafront about 200 meters away is nice with some bars, ice cream shops and restaurants. All in all a quiet, relaxing village that keeps you busy if you want to have some fun. We will definitely be back next year

At the reception two young ladies, Deborah and Swami, very kind and always available, the owner Mrs Elisabetta and her husband two exquisite people, friendly and they also helped me solve a problem with the car

Resort equipped with sll conforts, with large green spaces, a wonderful swimming pool and impeccable service, young, friendly abd helpful staff. We purchased an extra spa path for a fee and it was very relaxing

The beaxh is clean and the sea is very beauriful

It is no longer a buffet offering for dinner. It is a set course menu and they did not have a children's option. Breakfast also has less of a selection. Other then that everything was great

The service is friendly and the rooms are clean. The beach is super close and the pool is great for kids

Well position for those who like a nice walk into town, the beach is a pebble beach, however, if you explore you can find sandier ones. The rooms are clean, the cleaning staff are very polite and helpful too

The hotel area and pools were always clean. The staff and animators very friendly and helpful but onlý the animators spoke english, Everybody else spoke italian

There were activities around every hour Like water aerobik and tennis etc where a trainer or lecturer was waiting in čase somebody doesnt hlave a partner so People would Be enetertained all the time

The beach is sandy only around the sunbeds and then in the sea around 2-3 meters from the shore. I didnt mind it because the sea was just so clean and beautiful

The quality of the beds/matrasses wasnt the best but i Managed to sleep Quite comfortably and never woke up tired because of that

I was never bored for a second and reálky enjoyed my holidays

However, you can expect everyday activities and loud music playing on the beach throughout the day which can be annoying to someone. Also expect lots of (often screaming) kids

We stay in modern part which is closer to the beach, rooms are ok however very small. If you dont pay extra, you get the view to the busy steeet

Double bed for small children not the best option and there is nothing else to choose from. What is really wierd, requirement to swim in swimming caps at the outdoor pools…

The hotel also has pool areas that require swimming hat, a bar where you pay with your hotel card and an open theatre. The rooms are nice, air-conditioned (which is changeable at the reception) and cleaned daily

2 pools but I only used the smaller one (the big one was already fenced)

Super nice service, they changed my room to sea view as it is stated in my booking (not every hotel does that, looking at you, Al Moggar Agadir. So I got a room with balcony facing to the sea with breathtaking sunsets

Hotel cituated very close to the centre of the city. Very clean and spacious rooms, great variety of warm and cold choices of breakfast, polite and serviceable personel.

Very nice staff. Everyone that worked in the hotel was very friendly. Probably best location in Reggio. About 15 minute walk to port, about 5 minute walk to beach, and less than 5 minute walk to shopping and restaurants

The staff are wonderful very helpful. The hotel clean with comfortable beds and the food was great. Last minute booking and it did not disappoint. We would absolutely recommend, you won’t regret it !

the food was good both the dinner and the lunch on the first of the year. and nothing was missing, there is also a needle and thread kit for emergencies

If I lived in Italy I would make this place a yearly vacation. The staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming and seem to take a lot of pride in the experience they provide

We were there just to eat Dinner..The place is really clean and the Restaurant is elegant..The staff was nice and friendly..The food was also good ..Not much option to choose ..But with our experience we loved it

Clean, cosy, kind service, EXCELLENT food, private beach, quite big pool. Rooms maybe not large but it’s very ok. Only one bad thing is location, but if you don’t want to do shopping often it’s not a problem

Good breakfast (if you manage to come down early you may find more hot food, probably) In case you are traveling by car there's ample space for parking. It is located just behind a petrol station so no problem for fuel

The only complaint i have is the fact that i had been to cosenza in august and the aut conditioning was not working very well and it stopped randomly in the middle of the night

We stayed at this hotel as a "landing spot" while visiting family in Calabria. My only regret was that we didn't spend more time here. It is absolutely beautiful! The grounds are immaculate

The pool was so refreshing and had constant sun! We had a villa/cottage and it was perfect for our family. We got to play mini golf and had the course to ourselves

Our one week in Popilia this September was very relaxing. Large and beautiful pool, clean room and the surrounding grounds were very well kept. The restaurant was also very good but on the expensive side

Another wedding location, where the pool closed at 6 to allow for the party. The restaurant in the evening was ok. The breakfast the next morning was terrible

Popilia is a truly magical place, on a gently sloping plateau, with centuries-old forests and beautiful botanical specimens. The spa is excellent, with a Kneipp path and high-quality saunas

The restaurant is very well looked after in every respect, especially the very elegant and professional service, the excellent cook and a good wine list, nothing is missing

Very nice friendly welcome also very helpful and supportive as my Italian is limited highly recommend to anyone coming to Scalea also just across the road from the beach fantastic in the summer It is only my opinion everybody has different experience when they travel this has been mine I will be back soon to relax in the sunshine and drink the lovely wine in the evening as the view out to the sea...

Crossing the street (pretty Dangerous) you can reach a commercial center with a pharmacy, supermarket, various shops, restaurants and cinema. In the hotel there is a small gym, little pool and restaurant

Good breakfast buffet served by causa covid 19 staff. Also great is the wellness center where we had a 25 minute revitalizing massage and I must also add that the masseuse was friendly and very professional

I stayed at this hotel from August 15th to August 18th with my girlfriend and another couple. The structure is very beautiful, modern and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable

cons: exactly at the autostrada / highway. Ich you get a room fascing this direction, use ear plugs… Rest is fine

Clean rooms, modern furnishings, good breakfast, impeccable services. The proximity to the motorway allows you to reach different locations and being close to the airport is certainly a great advantage

It is perfect for family, the village is concentrated and you can reach every target by walking a couple of minutes. My favorite is the food high quality and fresh fish

Was the only guest at the resort when I arrived in early April for 2 nights. Rate was very cheap with the understanding that most facilities were still closed after winter

It has been a really good experience at la castella we ate really well and the beds were really nice 👍, good drinks and icecreams and awesome bedrooms

The pool and the sea can be reached in 15 seconds. Animation ok. A view of the sea from all apartments. The sunset from here is a spectacle.

Excellent village, pity that I only booked a week. And the price was exceptional. 4 swimming pools, excellent animation, beautiful sea. Nearby, at 5 km from the country's Diamond beautiful. Very good ice cream.

La Castellana is a great 4 stars hotel. It is close to the beach and has a nice view. They have a van which take you to beach and also brings you back. The structure is huge and it has a lot of options of what to do

It has also a market crossing the streets so if you need something you don’t need to drive for a long time to find a place to buy food. The menu is good and they always have first plate, second plate and a dessert

Great location near Tropea, food is good, nice big swimming pool, private beach, the hotel is a little outdated and our room smelt a lil musty. Staff very helpful and kind.

SnackBar in the pool, staff is nice but the food is not very good. Rooms are small but okay, though there is lot of noise from the street and from the railway which passes right next to the hotel

Also 'next door' there were preparations for the season that made noise some mornings (but this depends on location of your apartment and time of stay). Overall it was one of the best vacations we had as family

It is real heaven here! The people are so kind, so helpful. The view is amazing, the garden is divine. If somebody will remain hungry, they deserve it. We travelled with child and it was perfect!

The resort is very beautiful and it has a green beautiful garden, that offers intimacy. They have grapes in the garden, very good ones. :) The rooms are clean and very tastefully decorated

My family and I were recently guests at Baia del sole. Our family lives in the area and my cousin got married so it was nice to be nearby. Very friendly staff, we got to know them each morning for breakfast

You have complimentary water in the room, sparkling and still. The resort is right on the beach and you can watch the sea at sunset, with a view of the Stromboli

This place was so perfect for a family gathering, i was happy there everyday(7days) 18,then 22 people met up there,12 from another part of italy and 6 and then 4 from the Usa,they could not be more welcoming,the food was good,the drinks where good,and i dont know any place besides a resort that can accommodate 18 people for dinner, Sadly i dont speak italian,but everyone there does and where so great...

we had a great time in baia del sole resort. all the staff - first of all the mini club squad! - is absolutely amazing, we had fun and relax at the same time. garden, beach and swimming pool are marvelous
